Brow scar cover at Busan The Nine Skin52, a Hadan tattoo studio

In short

Busan The Nine Skin52 is a semi-permanent makeup studio on the 4th floor of the Suhyup Bank building by Exit 8 of Hadan Station in Saha, Busan. For these men's semi-permanent eyebrows, Busan The Nine Skin52 used line-type embo on the left brow and a line-plus-shading combo on the scarred right brow, drawing the shape for symmetry after 20 minutes of numbing cream. If you want an eyebrow scar covered, a studio that changes technique area by area like Busan The Nine Skin52 is the one to book.

Busan The Nine Skin52 is right in the Suhyup Bank building near Exit 8 of Hadan Station, so it seemed easy to reach by public transit too. They kindly texted directions before my appointment, so finding it wasn't hard at all :)

A tidy interior space. Following the hallway further in leads to the treatment room and the consultation room.

Cozy-feeling waiting area

Unlike the exterior, you get to wait for a bit in a really cozy space.

The consultation: covering an eyebrow scar

At Busan The Nine Skin52, the director first checks your eyebrow condition, desired shape, and scar location in a private consultation room before the procedure. Since scar coverage was the most important point for this men's semi-permanent eyebrow session, the consultation focused heavily on how to naturally blend the scarred area in.

The moment you walk into the director's office, you see quite an impressive array of credentials.. certificates, various commendation plaques, and awards all backing up her career, and she's apparently active as a judge in competitions too.

Before starting the procedure, the director first checked my current eyebrow condition and carefully went over the shape I wanted along with the scarred area. Since scar coverage was the key point this time, the consultation focused on how to naturally blend the scarred area into the brow.

For men's eyebrows, if they come out too dark or unnatural, the brows themselves can end up drawing all the attention, so it's important to keep the existing brow texture natural. For this procedure, she said she wouldn't just shape the brows but also take scar coverage into account together. So instead of using the same technique on both sides, each side was done differently.

After the consultation with the director, she carefully explained the guidelines, had me fill out a consent form, and walked me through the shedding process after the procedure.

How semi-permanent brows peel, and when to retouch

Days 1-5 after the treatment

For about the first 1 to 5 days after the procedure, the eyebrow color gradually gets darker. Areas with shading added for scar coverage, like this case, can look especially dark. Rather than panicking that it's too dark at first, she said it's important to just watch the shedding process play out.

Days 6-15 after the treatment

Around days 6 to 15, partial shedding begins and the color naturally fades out. Flaky bits can appear like skin peeling during this time, and she said it's important not to forcibly pick or scratch at it, and instead let it shed naturally.

Day 16: the retouch visit

And around day 16, you come back to check the overall eyebrow condition and get a retouch if needed! They check how the color has settled after shedding and note any spots that need extra work.

One thing to note: the look right after the procedure isn't the final result for semi-permanent eyebrows! The color becomes more natural as it goes through the shedding process.

What pigment does Busan The Nine Skin52 use?

The Nine's semi-permanent pigment used for the procedure

I was told that The Nine Skin52 uses pigments used in everyday safety-certified products and pigments certified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and The Nine's own pigment was used for this procedure. Since this is a procedure that puts pigment directly into the skin, being able to confirm what pigment is used felt personally important to me.

※ I'd recommend checking directly with the studio about pigment certification and usage scope before your own procedure.

Step by step through the eyebrow treatment

The semi-permanent eyebrow procedure

First, numbing cream was applied to both eyebrows and I waited about 20 minutes.

Preparation for men's semi-permanent eyebrow procedure

Before the semi-permanent procedure, the director drew on both eyebrows once more to fine-tune the symmetry.

Symmetrical eyebrow drawing

This procedure wasn't done the same way on both eyebrows. The left was done as line-type embo brows, and the right as combo brows mixing line-type with shading! She explained that for the scarred right side, rather than just expressing brow texture alone, adding shading helps naturally cover the scarred area.

Comparison of left line-type embo and right combo brows

Left brow: line-type embo

✨ The left side was done as line-type embo brows. This method follows the existing brow texture stroke by stroke, creating an overall natural look! It was done to bring out the natural texture typical of men's eyebrows while filling in sparse spots.

Right brow: combo brows over the scar

✨ The right side was a combo of line-type plus shading — the most important part of this procedure. Since there was a scar on the right eyebrow, line-type and shading were used together to more naturally cover the scarred area.

Right eyebrow with shading added over the scarred area

So right after the procedure, the right side definitely looked noticeably darker than the left. She said the scarred area was intentionally worked a bit darker at first, accounting for the color fading during shedding.

Color difference between both eyebrows right after the procedure

Other places usually do both eyebrows the same way with a single method, but what I particularly liked about this procedure at Busan The Nine Skin52 was that instead of treating both sides identically, they applied different techniques matched to the condition and concern of each area :)

Men's semi-permanent eyebrows: before and after

Getting this done at Busan The Nine Skin52 made me realize that when there's a scar on the eyebrow, it's really important to consider the scar's location and the existing brow texture together, rather than just shaping the brow. Especially for scarred areas, since the color-settling process needs to be factored in, it's better to judge the final result after shedding rather than by the look right after the procedure.

Recovery cream sample and eyebrow razor for aftercare

What aftercare do you get?

After the semi-permanent procedure was all done, they gave me a recovery cream sample and an eyebrow razor so I could easily manage aftercare at home. And that wasn't all — they also texted me separate guidance on precautions and care methods after the procedure. It felt like they were thorough about aftercare so even first-time visitors wouldn't get confused about how to care for their brows once they got home :)

Final verdict on Busan The Nine Skin52

What impressed me most about this men's semi-permanent eyebrow session in Busan was that it wasn't just about making a pretty brow shape — the existing brow texture, the shape, and the scar location were all considered together. Since the scarred area was intentionally worked darker to account for the shedding process, I'm even more excited to see how it looks once it's shed :)

I'm looking forward to watching the shedding process over the next 1 to 15 days and getting the retouch after day 16 to see how the brows finally settle 🤩 If you've been looking into men's semi-permanent eyebrows or scar-covering brows in Busan, I highly recommend Busan The Nine Skin52 👍🏻
