Yongsan wine bar for sparkling wine girls’ night: B421

The four of us had gathered for a bridal shower >< and, to wrap up girls’ night, we were looking for a bar or wine bar with a lovely atmosphere near Sookmyung Women's University Station when we found B421!

The atmosphere was so pretty that all our eyes went wide ✨ Since it was Saturday evening, we also saw quite a few people there for blind dates and dates.

Sipping wine amid the hazy, cozy atmosphere somehow made us feel even more languid. Here’s our review of properly enjoying girls’ night in that pleasantly tipsy mood! Let’s get started 🍷

The atmosphere at B421 near Sookmyung Women's University Station

B421 is truly right by the station, less than a three-minute walk from Sookmyung Women's University Station. There are two entrances, and we entered through a narrow alleyway. The entrance was rather small, so I wasn’t expecting too much—but when we opened the door, surprise ><! It suddenly felt completely magical, like Alice in Wonderland entering the rabbit hole ✨

Soft lighting was dotted throughout, and the seating was divided into group tables, small tables, and bar tables, so it looked great for work dinners, gatherings, and dates too. The seats near the entrance looked suitable for larger groups.

The tables even had these softly glowing yellow lights, making them perfect for cozy, intimate conversations. We were shown to seats farther inside, where it was already quite full! Most tables had a date or blind-date vibe 💕

We had booked ahead, so we got a campfire-style lit table that was just right for four people.

B421’s menu and the wine we ordered

Since we had already finished a big meal earlier, we ordered simple, refreshing fruit snacks.

As you’d expect from a wine bar, there was a wonderfully wide selection of wine. B421 is especially known for port wine too, so keep that in mind. We wanted something moderately sweet and lighter than regular wine, so we ordered sparkling wine.

They also have whiskey, cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic options.

Pairing sparkling wine with fruit snacks

Before the meal, B421 serves this cute yogurt 🍨 With cranberries and nuts, it was refreshing and nutty. Soon after, the sparkling wine we ordered arrived 🥂

The wine we ordered was La Brava Cava Semi Seco, ₩49,000—body 4 | sweetness 6 | acidity 6. It was a light sparkling wine that was refreshing and cool to drink, making it absolutely perfect for 🌙 girls’ night.

They also brought us an ice bucket so we could enjoy it chilled. 🧊 It was definitely much tastier cold. All three of us who could drink were completely satisfied. At 11% ABV, you do gradually get a little tipsy, but since we drank it slowly, the buzz didn’t hit all at once.

Non-alcoholic blue lemonade, ₩16,000. This lemonade was blue, blue, blue from the color alone 🍋 One friend couldn’t drink that day, so she ordered it instead—but everyone, B421 is a place where the wine is really delicious. Order wine, cocktails, or beer! Personally, I was a little disappointed that the blue lemonade wasn’t sweet enough. Maybe I’m just crazy about sugar,.?! Anyway, cheers 🥂

Next up came the refreshing fruit snacks 💛

Melon Prosciutto, ₩19,000. The meeting of salty prosciutto and sweet melon 💛 So very right!

These super juicy fruit snacks were seriously the best!! There was also very thinly sliced cheese on top. Salty + nutty + sweet flavors 🍈 If you’ve already had a big meal like we did, I recommend the Melon Prosciutto!

Frozen green grapes and honey

Frozen green grapes + honey, ₩7,000. Next were the frozen green grapes and honey—dip cool green grapes in honey and this is basically tanghulu (candied fruit on a skewer).

The sweet frozen green grapes were tasty even as they thawed. They were affordable too, making them just right as a very simple snack.

Now it was proper girls’ night party time~ Cheers again ✨ The sweetness and acidity were sooooo approved! If you’re looking for a refreshing, sweet wine, choose this one! There was plenty too—I think the three of us each had three to four glasses.

Another bite of fruit snacks—the pairing with sparkling wine was great too. We had eaten salty pasta and the like for dinner, so this refreshing sweet treat was just right. But if sweet + sweet feels like too much, I’d recommend salty snacks such as cheese 🧀

The long opening hours meant we could chat up a storm~ and keep drinking wine 🥂 I feel like this is the five-thousandth time I’ve said it, but the sparkling wine was so delicious.. ✨

If you’re looking for a spot near Sookmyung Women’s University with a lovely atmosphere and a range of wines, cocktails, and whiskeys, I recommend B421! There are lots of meal options too, so it’s good as a first stop—and, like us, it’s also such a great place to come for girls’ night as a second stop ✨🥂🌙
