Where is Madam Hao, and is there parking?
Madam Hao is a Vietnamese restaurant near Ajou University in Suwon, at 49 Worldcup-ro 193beon-gil, 101ho, Yeongtong-gu. There's a parking space right beside the restaurant, so if you're driving you don't need to worry too much. That said, the space is a bit small, so whether you can actually park may depend on the time and situation!
Hours are Sun–Fri 11:00–03:00, with a break time from 15:00–17:00, and Saturday it's 17:00–03:00.

Hi, this is Jina : ) Today I'm sharing my review of Madam Hao, a Vietnamese pho restaurant I found near Ajou University in Suwon. I love pho and tend to hunt down good pho places, and the moment I tasted this one I thought "this is the real deal!" — a feeling I hadn't had in a while. It was honestly one of the best pho bowls I've had in Korea, so much so that I'm already planning to bring my family next time haha.

Inside Madam Hao: a Vietnamese owner and Vietnamese staff
As soon as I walked into Madam Hao, a bigger-than-expected space opened up inside. What I liked most was the atmosphere — it felt just like an actual local restaurant in Vietnam, so even before the food arrived I already felt like I was traveling haha.
It turns out both the staff and the owner at Madam Hao are all Vietnamese. Maybe that's why not just the food but the whole atmosphere of the place felt so authentically local.

The menu was more varied than I expected. That day we ordered bun cha (grilled pork with noodles) and beef brisket pho. Personally, when I go to a pho restaurant I care a lot about the broth of the basic pho, so I was waiting for the beef brisket pho with high expectations.

There's also a Naver review event running, so keep that in mind.
Beef brisket pho: deep broth and fresh noodles brought from Vietnam
Madam Hao's beef brisket pho had a rich, deep broth. When it finally arrived... wow... it looked seriously delicious just from the visuals alone ㅠㅠ

I tried the broth first, and honestly, this depth of flavor made no sense... It was genuinely one of the best pho broths I've had in Korea. It really felt like eating pho in actual Vietnam!!!

It reminded me of the pho I ate when I traveled to Vietnam — and honestly, I think I liked this one even more than what I had there. Of course everyone's taste is different, but for me this was genuinely one of the best pho bowls ever haha. The broth was so rich and deep that after one spoonful I just kept scooping up more.

There was a generous amount of meat and bean sprouts too, so I could eat plenty of toppings. And the noodles were genuinely the soft, chewy pho noodles I remember from Vietnam!! I asked the owner and was told they're brought over directly from Vietnam. Fresh pho noodles — that soft texture I'd only ever tasted in Vietnam ㅠㅠ the best!!
Bun cha: warm noodles and fresh herbs
Madam Hao's bun cha comes with nuoc mam sauce, vegetables, and herbs, served alongside meat and noodles to mix together. Next up, my favorite — bun cha! The moment it arrived, the look of it alone screamed local restaurant.
The noodles in particular felt a little different from what you usually see at typical Korean-style Vietnamese restaurants. I also liked that the sauce and noodles came out warm. The vegetables included not just lettuce but also herbs with that distinctive fragrance, which made it feel even more like authentic Vietnamese food.

The subtle fragrance of the herbs, combined with the nuoc mam sauce, noodles, and meat, really did taste like food from Vietnam ㅠㅠ if you like herbs, you'll especially love this. The meat was delicious too, and mixing the noodles, vegetables, and meat into the sauce together made for a really great combination. Personally the pho was great, but the bun cha also gave me that satisfying feeling of eating properly authentic Vietnamese food.

Who is Madam Hao in Suwon best for?
Honestly, I visited this time through Superchart Members. I went in with a review assignment in mind, but after actually eating, my thinking completely changed. I'm genuinely planning to come back.
In particular, the beef brisket pho broth is still on my mind, it was that good. The noodles tasted just like what I had locally, and everything from the broth to the meat to the bean sprouts was satisfying overall. You have to try the bun cha too!! Next time I'm definitely bringing my family.
If you're looking for somewhere to have lunch near Ajou University in Suwon, want to try something different in Vietnamese food, or are especially after pho or bun cha that actually tastes local, I'd recommend this place. For me, this visit felt like discovering my go-to pho restaurant near Ajou University in Suwon. Next time I'll have to work through the rest of the menu one dish at a time : )
