A proper full platter of sushi at Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch.
Hi, this is Jigu :) On a weekend afternoon I went with my husband and baby Sebok to Ganghan Sushi, a well-known spot in Buldang-dong, Cheonan. In the end I was so, so satisfied with the sushi...🍣 Let me show you!
How to find Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch, plus the parking tip
Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch sits inside the Sinbuldang commercial district! It's about a 5-minute walk across from Cheonan City Hall, so it's easy to reach.

If you search for Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch in your navigation app, it'll direct you to the First Plaza building — just park on basement level 1 or 2.

You need to complete parking validation to get the 3 free hours — when you're done eating, register on the tablet by the store entrance before you leave!! It's self-service, so don't forget!!😊
Menu, seating and baby chairs at Ganghan Sushi

There's a big menu board right at the entrance. With photos on it, it's easy to pick what you want. The set menus are such a great deal!!🎉 Of course, they also sell 2-piece sushi individually, so you can build whichever combination you want :) The prices were lower than I expected, so this actually looks like a solid spot to stop by for lunch in Buldang-dong too!

There's a mix of 2-person and 4-person tables, so it's easy to seat any group size,

and of course they have a baby chair~~ It was surprisingly sturdy, more than you usually see at restaurants. We sat Sebok in it and had a great meal as a couple haha.

There are also cute waiting chairs tucked in one corner for customers who are queuing.
Ordering the Ganghan Sushi 12P and raw salmon sushi 12P

Every table has pickled ginger and radish pickle (rakkyo) set out. They're kept clean in cute little containers, so it feels well maintained hygiene-wise😊

Ganghan Sushi 12P, raw salmon sushi 12P. I'm honestly a salmon fanatic...!😎 If you come to a great sushi place, you've got to get a full platter of salmon...lol For the second platter, I ordered the Ganghan Sushi, which comes with a variety of everything.

📌 Mini udon, miso soup, and a croquette with salad come included as a base. Perfect for settling your stomach before the meal, don't you think? I've never seen a place that gives you a croquette as standard!!
And yes... the inside of the croquette is packed too.. good stuff👏
From raw salmon to shrimp sushi: how did it taste?

The sushi finally arrives. My beloved salmon sushi.... so gorgeous......

The raw salmon has a slight seasoning to it. And the sushi vinegar rice is seasoned to match, so the umami really comes through🧡 The onion shreds on top cut through the richness completely and add a crunchy texture — it was so delicious haha. As expected, more than solid.

The soy sauce soaked right into the egg sushi, so it was fluffy and sweet — really tasty.

Tuna sashimi quality is always reliably good. The tuna was more than solid too, round 2.

The shrimp sushi varieties were no joke either. Eating the soy-marinated raw shrimp sushi with just a touch of wasabi lets the shrimp flavor really come through! The one wrapped in gamtae (seaweed) adds the fragrant taste of the seaweed on top!

The other sushi pieces had zero fishy taste and a proper chewy texture. That has to mean the fish was aged really well...💗

When you need a little palate refresh mid-meal, a bite of washed aged kimchi (mujeungchi) is magic — resets your taste buds!
Was the meal worth it with a baby along?

For sushi quality at this level, the price felt like a real bargain! It's affordable enough that I feel like I'll be back often!! Especially the chewy texture of the sushi rice showed just how well they aged the fish~🤗 And the fact that the fish itself had a hint of seasoning made me think they aged it with real care ദ്ദിᐢ. .ᐢ₎ The sushi vinegar balance was excellent too! If you want to try high-level sushi, give Ganghan Sushi in Cheonan a try~ Next time I'm in Cheonan, I'm definitely coming back haha.
