Gimhae sushi set with a 5-piece salmon add-on: Sushi Hwa

Today I want to write about Sushi Hwa, a great-value flame-seared sushi restaurant on Bongridan-gil in Gimhae!

If you asked me to pick just 5 of my favorite foods, sushi would definitely be one of them, so when I found out there was a great-value flame-seared sushi place near my home on Gimhae's Bongridan-gil, I had to check it out!

Where to park near Sushi Hwa

Sushi Hwa has its own parking lot, but it's a bit small, so I'd recommend using a nearby public lot — Bongridan-gil Public Parking Lot 2 is within a 5-minute walk of the restaurant, so I'd suggest parking there!

Inside Sushi Hwa: seating and baby tables

The inside of Sushi Hwa isn't huge, but since it's known as a great-value spot that mostly gets family visits, the tables were spaced out pretty generously,

and the seating ranged from standard 4-tops to 6-tops and even a table for large groups,

plus a bar table for solo diners and two 2-person tables!

There's also a baby table set up in one corner, so you can visit with a baby without any worries about where to sit!

Two flame-seared sushi sets plus a salmon add-on

So what we ordered at Sushi Hwa was 2 flame-seared sushi sets (30.0) and salmon flame-seared sushi 5p + inari 1p (8.0), and since the flame-seared sushi set lets you choose garlic or spicy sauce, I went with half and half!

The flame-seared sushi set (15.0) came out as a neat spread with 10 pieces of main flame-seared sushi + udon or cold soba, a vegetable salad, and blueberries for dessert,

and what I really loved was that the default doesn't include wasabi in case some people don't like it, and instead they give you a whole tube for anyone who wants extra wasabi — such a thoughtful touch hahahahahahahaha

The vegetable salad had a sweet and tangy yuzu-flavored sauce, which was perfect for lightly waking up my appetite before diving into the sushi,

What the 10-piece flame-seared set includes, and the best bites

The sushi lineup in the flame-seared set was: inari 1p + salmon 1p + egg 1p + clam 1p + wagyu 1p + beef brisket 1p + grilled red shrimp 1p + flame-seared shrimp 2p + one I couldn't identify 1p, 10 pieces in total,

and out of the 10 kinds of flame-seared sushi, my personal favorites were the beef brisket sushi, salmon sushi, and grilled red shrimp ₊˚ ⊹ ♡

Cold soba on the side and the extra salmon flame-seared sushi

The cold soba that came as a side was genuinely good enough to order on its own, and I finished the broth completely hahahahahahahaha

I really love salmon, so I made sure to order the extra salmon flame-seared sushi in advance, and I would have 100% regretted it if I hadn't. The salmon was thick and full of that smoky char, and with the half spicy + half garlic sauce, I just kept eating piece after piece • •

Is 15,000 won per person worth it at Sushi Hwa?

For just ₩15,000 per person, you get 10 pieces of flame-seared sushi + salad + cold soba at Sushi Hwa ♡ This was my first time going somewhere just for flame-seared sushi, and it was way better than I expected — I think I'll come back whenever it crosses my mind again!
