Damaged-hair S-course treatment at a Hwaseong hair salon: Juno Hair

Hair so damaged by straightening that I could barely comb it

I naturally have very curly hair, so I make sure to get straightening treatments regularly! Right after getting one, my hair seems instantly healthier, but really only the surface has been straightened. As time goes on, the inside of the hair gets totally fried and the damage gets worse.

Recently, the damage got so bad that I could barely even comb my hair, so after worrying about it, I visited Juno Hair Dongtan Solbitnaru Branch, a Dongtan hair salon known for its treatments!

A salon that takes up the whole second floor, plus a waiting area

The first thing that surprised me when I arrived was that the entire second floor was Juno Hair as soon as I stepped out of the elevator!

I looked around the salon while waiting in the customer waiting area! The interior here was lovely, too.

Rather than just one style, it is divided into two spaces: a white-toned interior and a luxurious brown-toned interior. The two spaces definitely have very different vibes, right?

I received my treatment in the brown space, which felt luxurious and warm!

There is also a separate treatment area exclusively for VIP customers like this!

There is even a separate kids' room, so I think you could come with your child without worrying >_<...!

There is also a restroom inside, so no worries! I thought the music in the restroom was unusually loud, but it was actually thoughtful music so that no sounds would carry outside..👍

A damaged-hair treatment with the S-course

While I waited and throughout my appointment, they kept asking whether I wanted something to drink, so there was never a moment for my mouth to get bored..❤️

After consulting with Sia, the program we decided on for today was the S-course!

The S-course is a treatment that thoroughly removes heavy metals and lime buildup inside the hair, then strengthens the damaged internal structure to improve elasticity, with a triple coating to extend how long it lasts!

What I learned about my current hair condition during the consultation

First, the state of my hair before treatmentㅠㅠ The stylist explained it so kindly, and said that out of 100 points, my hair currently had only around 20 points' worth of protein.

They said my hair was badly damaged because I get straightening treatments so oftenㅠㅠ And since I had never had a clinic treatment before, I had just kept hurting my hairㅠㅠ

But they said that if I get treatments regularly once a month, the score can build up little by little—40 points after the second session, 60 after the third, 80 after the fourth—until I have healthy, 100-point hair. So I decided to keep up with it from now on!

Consistency is the only answer!

Heat processing and a cozy shampoo room

Once the treatment really got underway, they carefully did a heat-processing step so the nutrients could soak deep into my hair. And the most healing part was the shampoo room!!!

Unlike other salons, it was divided into private rooms and two-person rooms. The lighting inside was cozily dim, so getting my hair washed without any glare felt like a whole new world.. The dimness made me sleepy, and it was seriously so comfortable..

Soft, swishy hair after the treatment

After the treatment, the stylist told me to run my hand through my hair. When I did, I was so shocked: hair that I could not even comb had become unbelievably soft and swishy.

As the protein filled it from within, it felt substantial yet glossy—definitely different!!! What a fool I was, thinking straightening was all I needed whenever my hair got damaged ㅠ.ㅠ

I am going back for another clinic treatment in a month!! Absolutely. I have one more thing to keep up with regularly now, but my quality of life has changedㅠㅠㅠ Seriously.

It rained throughout my Japan trip this time, but I wore my hair down the whole time. My hair is super curly, so being able to wear it down on a rainy day was my wish—and it finally came trueㅠㅠ Normally it would have gone all frizzy, but it stayed perfectly neat!!

I know there are lots of people worried about damaged hair. Truly, even just having nicer hair gives you such a proper mood boost. And I think anything you do with your hair looks prettier when the hair itself is pretty!
