I visited Chungsilok Ppyeohaejangguk, a gamjatang (pork bone stew) and pork bone soup restaurant in Naseong-dong, Sejong.
I went for lunch and had the pork bone soup — hearty but easygoing. Let me introduce Chungsilok's pork bone soup, which comes under ₩10,000 and is packed with meaty bones.

Chungsilok's location and gamjatang takeout prices
It's on the first floor of a building across from the National Tax Service and fire department, and it's easy to spot right from the main road.
The gamjatang takeout discount prices are listed as small ₩24,000 / medium ₩38,000 / large ₩48,000.

Hours are 10:30 am to 9 pm, closed on Sundays.

Parking is free for 3 hours, but watch the entrance
The basement parking entrance is in the alley behind the building, and you need to be careful not to accidentally drive into the neighboring building's parking lot. I went into the right one, but another customer parked in the building next door and had to come back around, oof.

If you park at this building, you get 3 whole hours free! Without parking registration, only the first 15 minutes are free, and after that it's ₩1,500 for the base 30 minutes plus ₩500 per additional 5 minutes.

Ordering takeout by phone and the restaurant's atmosphere
I called ahead to order takeout and everything was ready when I arrived at the time we agreed on. The interior is clean too, isn't it? The tiled roof interior fits the name Chungsilok nicely, and the paintings on the walls were pretty, haha.

The pork bone soup takeout order comes at a discounted ₩9,000, which makes it even more affordable. Takeout and delivery orders kept coming in, with customers and delivery riders constantly going in and out, and the takeout pickup zone was completely packed like this.

Side dishes cost ₩1,000 extra each for takeout
Side dishes like napa cabbage kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi), onion, chili peppers, and ssamjang are available from a self-serve bar when dining in, and each can be added to a takeout order for ₩1,000 extra. Yeolmu kimchi seems to be a seasonal side dish you can only get sometimes! Every kimchi was delicious and generously portioned, so it was worth paying extra for takeout, haha.

The taste of pork bone soup packed per individual serving
I asked for it packed into individual servings and they happily agreed. I could feel the kindness even over the phone, haha. The pork bone soup came packed to the brim in a deep container! I also ordered extra kimchi, kkakdugi, and cheongyang chili peppers.

First off, one serving was so generous that two people could share it and still feel full. There were about three big bone pieces in each. The rich broth, tender meat, and well-boiled ugeoji (dried napa cabbage leaves) were all really delicious.
For a soup restaurant like this, the kimchi and kkakdugi need to be good too, right? The napa cabbage kimchi was slightly like a fresh geotjeori, light and refreshing, and the kkakdugi was fermented just enough, tangy and perfect with the pork bone soup.
Chungsilok delivers a meal that's fully satisfying with a taste that stays true to the basics.
This pork bone soup is great for curing a hangover, and just as good with a drink!
Is dining alone possible?
Pork bone soup tastes even better piping hot! When I visited, it was a bit early in the evening, and there were people eating alone too. With generous portions and a really rich broth, I'd recommend Chungsilok for a hearty meal, haha.
