A great chicken stew spot in Seongjeong-dong, Cheonan •• [ Sottture Dakdoritang ] I was craving Korean food, so I came by .. 💓 There is a parking lot behind the restaurant, so it was easy to drive over.

They also offer ₩5,000 off at lunch or for takeout, which is so nice haha. Last time I got takeout, and it tasted exactly the same as eating at the restaurant—it was delicious :)”

I visited on a weekend with no break time, and there were not many customers at first ,, but as soon as dinner time came, they poured in! Lots of people came for drinks with their food too. Chicken stew ,, undeniably the best drinking snack 🤭💛

The self-service bar and how to eat chicken stew

Use the self-service bar for any banchan (Korean side dishes) you need more of. If the chicken stew reduces too much, you can add as much broth as you need yourself, but I love the thick, rich flavor, so I ate it without adding more ^^

Sottture Dakdoritang uses fresh chicken delivered every morning! Sometimes the meat inside can look reddish because of myoglobin, so do not worry—just enjoy it haha 🍗

A generous spread of whole chicken stew and potato pancake

The chicken stew and potato pancake came out faster than expected. There was so much that I worried we would not be able to finish it all. But to give you the conclusion first ,, we wiped every last bit clean haha.

My boyfriend was curious about the potato pancake, so we ordered it as a side, and it was unexpectedly so good—crispy outside and chewy inside. Dip it in soy sauce - seriously delicious :)

This chicken stew serves two to three people, and it is so generous, right? You just let it boil hard for about three minutes before eating; I think the chicken was already fully cooked when it came out. hahahahaha

That thick, rich broth .. so delicious 💓 Once it was bubbling away, the richness immediately made me want rice.

There were loads of chewy rice cakes in it too.

A huge chicken drumstick 🍗 I do not like drumsticks, so I gave all of mine to my boyfriend. I like chicken breast ^^

I love scallions, so I was happy there were lots of them. Soak them right in the broth before eating ,, absolutely heavenly.

Finishing with steamed rice and fried rice

As I ate, I started craving rice, so I ordered it right away. You would miss it if you left it out with chicken stew. Mixing it with potatoes in the broth is the universal rule •.•

Even when we are full, Koreans cannot give up fried rice haha. We mashed up every last potato and egg and fried it, so it did not look amazing, but the flavor was the best .. 💛 Everyone, definitely have fried rice to finish ~
