Cheonan massage spa with strong Thai acupressure: Rutai Massage

In short

Rutai Massage Cheonan Sinbuldang Branch is a massage spa in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, Chungnam, offering Thai, aroma, and couples’ courses. I had a 60-minute Thai massage after a warm foot massage, and the firm varying pressure and head acupressure felt especially refreshing. Verdict: a place I’d revisit when I want to rest comfortably after sharing my preferred pressure.

A different kind of tiredness from exercise: back at a Buldang-dong massage spa

I usually loosen up through exercise, but I think there’s another kind of fatigue that comes from exercising hard too~ Maybe it’s the hot weather, but even after resting I didn’t feel fully refreshed. So I set aside time today and visited Rutai Massage Cheonan Sinbuldang Branch, the Buldang-dong massage specialist I’d been to before~

A few months ago, I went with my Buldang-dong ajumma friend because my body felt stiff, and the massage was quite refreshing~ I thought I should come back when I felt tired again, and it seemed like that time had come, so I visited once more~

Parking and how to get in

Even though I’d only been here once, my second visit already felt familiar, haha. It’s on the third floor of Sinyeong Building, right in the middle of Sinbuldang’s dining alley. There’s underground parking, but if it’s full, you can park along the main road~ Parking on the main road is allowed 24 hours on weekends and holidays, and after 8 p.m. on weekdays~ When you reach the third floor, you’ll see the door; ring the bell and it opens~

Thai-inspired interiors and a variety of rooms

Inside, Thai-inspired decor, elephants, cushions, and other props give the place a real Thai feel. The lighting isn’t too bright, and the gentle light and relaxed mood made it feel as though the healing had started as soon as I arrived, even before the massage~

This is the shower room. They may apply a pain-relief patch during the massage (it isn’t mandatory—they ask), so if you need to shower, you can wash up before leaving~

Starting with a warm foot massage

After being shown to the massage room, I changed and put on a robe before starting with a foot massage. Once you soak your feet in comfortably warm water, the Thai therapists come in and begin the foot massage~

They even have hair ties available if you need to tie your hair up~ haha. As soon as I started soaking my feet in the warm water, I thought, is the healing finally beginning!

A 60-minute Thai massage and why the firm acupressure felt so good

Rutai Massage, a Buldang-dong massage specialist, offers a range of treatments, including aroma massage, Thai massage, and couples’ massage. Reservations are made through Naver, and they provide discount coupons too, so I recommend applying one for a more affordable massage~

After the foot massage, the proper Thai massage began~!! My Buldang-dong ajumma friend and I chose the basic 60-minute Thai massage. We were short on time ㅠㅠ but if you have more room in your schedule, I thought a couples’ Thai massage or a 75-minute massage would be nice too.

60-minute Thai massage treatment

Personally, I prefer a massage with a fair amount of pressure rather than one that’s too gentle~ When you have tight spots, it feels refreshing when they press them firmly, right? Haha. The Thai therapist I had this time used fairly strong acupressure, so it felt really good.

This time too, I went in thinking, “Don’t think about anything, just get some deep rest~” I thought I was relaxing as much as possible, but apparently I was tensing up without realizing it? The Thai therapist saying, “Relax~ relax~” became a funny little moment during the massage, haha.

With a feeling of alternating stronger and gentler pressure, it wasn’t just a light rub with the hands—they pressed firmly, which I loved~ It hurt a little, yet felt so refreshing at the same time~~~

My hands feel refreshed too, and I want another session just looking at the photos, haha. It felt great to me, but everyone experiences pain and refreshment differently… Since everyone has a different pressure preference, I think people who prefer a gentler massage should mention pressure adjustment during the treatment~ They also ask which areas you want worked on more, so it’s good to tell them—or to mention it in advance~

Head acupressure and the pleasant drowsiness afterward

I think I really loved the head acupressure massage too. I’ve had a lot on my mind lately and headaches as well, so my head had been throbbing. They pressed it firmly with refreshing acupressure and slowly released the tension—it felt so good~

The downside is that time goes by far too quickly ㅠㅠㅠ haha. I thought there would still be ages left~~ and then suddenly it was over…. The stiff areas hurt a little at first when they were pressed, but afterward they felt much more refreshed~ A pleasant drowsiness, almost like the comfortable feeling that comes when tension releases, washed over me too, haha. This must be what rest is, right? I didn’t wear one, but they have couples’ robes as well.

Time for myself on a tiring day

For anyone whose body feels stiff and wants a refreshing massage, enjoys Thailand’s distinctive acupressure, or wants to shake off everyday fatigue, Rutai Massage Cheonan Sinbuldang Branch is an easy, comfortable place to visit. On days when you’re so tired you don’t want to do anything at all, I think making time for yourself once in a while is a good idea~

I was satisfied both on my first visit a few months ago and this time, so when another day comes when my body feels heavy and tired, I think I’ll visit again~ I left feeling satisfied once more~~
