In short
Huni Gejang Cheonan Main Branch is a seafood restaurant serving crab soup and marinated crab in Yuryang-dong, Cheonan. There’s a great place in Yuryang-dong, Cheonan where I had delicious gejang (marinated raw crab) before, you know? It’s probably already well known to anyone who loves gejang, and I heard they’d introduced crab soup, so I went back specifically for that!! Their gejang set meal was already so generous and tasty, but the crab soup was packed with crabs too, and the broth was incredibly refreshing and deliciousㅜㅜ It was such a good crab soup meal in Cheonan that I really wanted to share it with you all! If you like crab, I hope you’ll definitely try this place!
Last time I had the gejang set meal, but this time I finally got the crab soup I’d been craving!

This is Huni Gejang Cheonan Main Branch, located right at the entrance to Yuryang-dong. The building is so big that you can spot it at once!

There’s a really large parking lot behind the building, so parking is easy too, which I loved!

This Cheonan crab soup spot is on the first floor, so you can park and head straight in. The entrance faces the parking lot, making the whole route super convenient!

Huni Gejang Cheonan Main Branch menu and order

Here’s the menu at Huni Gejang Cheonan Main Branch. I had the gejang set meal last time, but this time there was something I really wanted!
- Authentic crab soup (small) ₩70,000
- Stone-pot rice for 2 people ₩3,000 × 2
That’s what we ordered.

After we ordered, they set out such a generous spread of side dishes. This Yuryang-dong, Cheonan restaurant has delicious banchan (Korean side dishes) too, so I cleaned every single one up! You could really taste the owner’s skilled touch.

They also provided plenty of disposable gloves, so eating the crab was convenient! Such thoughtful glove service~
Small authentic crab soup: meaty crab and refreshing spicy broth

A little later, our crab soup arrived. Even though it was the smallest size, I was shocked by how much there was! It was piled high with vegetables too. They set an hourglass next to it and said we could eat as soon as all the sand had run through~ It felt like it would be ready once the vegetables had softened!

Please make sure to order the stone-pot rice. Rice doesn’t come with the crab soup, so you need to order it separately, you know? But the stone-pot rice is definitely much better than regular steamed rice. The rice is wonderfully chewy; scoop it out, then pour hot water into the pot! Leave it to one side after adding the water, then enjoy the nurungji (scorched rice) later.
The crab soup started bubbling away, so I stirred it with a ladle to mix it well—but there were so many crabs underneath that the ladle wouldn’t even go in, haha. There was seriously so much!! So many wonderfully substantial crabs! I tried the broth first, and wow, why was it so refreshing,,? The lightly spicy, refreshing broth was so delicious. The hourglass hadn’t even finished yet, but the broth was so good that I kept spooning it up.

Can you see how meaty the crabs are? Every time I come to Huni Gejang, I notice how great the crab yield isㅜㅜ They’re really packed with meat. I’m often disappointed because the crabs in crab soup usually aren’t very meaty, but the ones at Huni Gejang were incredibly full!
They were truly stuffed with meat, and there were four of these meaty crabs in total! Each was cut in half, making eight pieces altogether! It was such a generous amount. Can you see all that meat coming out when I squeezed it by hand? I squeezed out the meat and ate it with rice, then sucked every last bit from the shells, and more meat just kept coming out—seriously, haha.
Even the claws and legs had quite a lot of meat, so there wasn’t a single thing to waste, you know? I picked every bit of meat from the claws too! They gave us scissors as well, and they made picking the crab so easy haha.

I wondered why the broth was so refreshing, and it turned out there was loads of radish in it. The broth was so good that I kept spooning it up, then mixed rice into it and ate every bite properly!

And to finish, the stone-pot rice! I picked all the crab meat and put it on top of the rice too, and it went so well together. I really scraped the pot clean. And I finished all the side dishes too!! This Yuryang-dong, Cheonan restaurant is so delicious that I think I always end up overeating whenever I visit.

They even have coffee and candy for dessert, so finishing with a little palate cleanser makes the whole meal perfect haha.

If you love crab soup, it’s crab season these days, you know~ Visit this Yuryang-dong, Cheonan restaurant for crab soup and gejang! Once you visit, you can’t help becoming a regular, so I really hope you’ll give it a try!
