I went in for a scalp clinic after a long while at Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo, located on the 3rd floor at 8 Seolleung-ro 161-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

It's about a 3-minute walk from exits 5 and 6 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station, so access was great, and it's close to a bus stop too, making it easy to reach by public transit.

For anyone driving, there's valet parking available at the lot beside the building's stairs, so visiting by car works fine too.

Business hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and they're closed every Tuesday.

I was treated by designer Hansuji that day, who greeted me with such bright energy from the start and kept me comfortable the whole way through — I left feeling genuinely great about the whole experience. Highly, highly recommend designer Hansuji!!

Inside the salon: floor-to-ceiling windows and the atmosphere

One whole wall of the Biorn Hair Apgujeong Rodeo salon is a floor-to-ceiling window, giving such an open, airy feeling — the space felt spacious and comfortable with no cramped sensation, and there was plenty of room to move around too.

Among the salons I've been to, this one had a lively yet relaxed vibe, making it a comfortable Apgujeong Rodeo hair salon to get treated at.

Scalp microscope diagnosis: checking inflammation and heat

Before starting the actual treatment, they carefully checked my current scalp condition with a scalp microscope.

I'd mentioned my scalp had been sore lately, probably from picking the wrong shampoo, and sure enough, inflammation had already set in... My scalp tends to run hot and gets sensitive, so I usually get it managed regularly, but with the weather getting so hot I'd been slacking on scalp care for a while ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Scalp needs regular care just like skin, and I felt so upset that just a little neglect led to inflammation ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Designer Hansuji explained that when the scalp has heat or inflammation, it's important to create a calmer scalp environment, so she guided the treatment toward managing the inflammation while also lowering the scalp's heat!

Scaling plus a back, shoulder and trapezius blood-flow massage

Once I moved to the treatment seat, there was even a cute giraffe prop that matched designer Hansuji's personality so well haha. She herself is such a bright, adorable type, and even the little props totally matched her vibe haha.

It gets cooler at night these days but the daytime weather was still so hot, and they even prepared cold iced tea and snacks for me to enjoy in between — such a nice Apgujeong Rodeo hair salon to get treated at!

First, they used a scalp-specific scaling product to clear away buildup and dead skin around the pores. She scrubbed thoroughly all over my scalp, which felt so refreshing, and followed it with a blood-flow massage to help circulation leading up to the scalp.

When doing scalp care, it's good to loosen up not just the scalp but the back, shoulders, trapezius, and back of the neck too, so she worked through them one by one with the blood-flow massage — it felt amazing haha.

What bubble cleansing and the water punch felt like

Next, still seated, she did a bubble cleansing and a light scalp massage. The first cleansing was done in the regular shampoo room, and for the final step I moved to a private single-person shampoo room for an even more comfortable experience.

In the shampoo room I also got the water punch, my favorite part of any scalp treatment!

Water punch is a treatment that cleanses the scalp with water while stimulating it in a massage-like way — I like it strong, and she adjusted the pressure exactly to my taste. The water jets passed over so refreshingly, and my scalp felt truly clean and rinsed through — it felt amazing haha.

Steamer waiting time and high-frequency lifting

I sat back comfortably and rested for a bit under a warm steamer. The sky was so pretty that day, and with the cloud view through the floor-to-ceiling window, just sitting there quietly was healing in itself.

They topped up my drink and snacks once more in between, and even helped charge my phone — such thoughtful care made me think this really is an Apgujeong Rodeo hair salon that takes customer care seriously!

Next she explained this step uses a high-frequency device for both scalp care and lifting care together.

Private single-person shampoo room with a massage chair

For the final shampoo step, I moved to the private single-person shampoo room, where I could sit in a massage chair for the shampoo — so comfortable!

She did acupressure too, and designer Hansuji's hand strength is seriously impressive. It wasn't a quick token pressure job — she really dug in properly, and it felt amazing. She mentioned she's known among clients for her massage skills, and I understood exactly why haha.

I came in for a scalp clinic and left feeling like I'd gotten a proper massage too!

Lastly, she applied a functional nutrient regeneration tonic and antibacterial spray to my now-clean scalp to help further with the inflammation care.

Blow-dry and styling to finish: would I book Biorn Hair again?

Finally, she blow-dried my hair and finished with styling.

At most scalp centers you usually have to dry your own hair after the treatment ends, but at a hair salon they finish everything neatly with the blow-dry — which is honestly why I personally prefer getting scalp care done at a hair salon.

I was so satisfied with the scalp care I got from designer Hansuji that I'm definitely coming back next time! Getting the treatment myself, I completely understood why she has so many regulars haha.
