Thin-hair S-curl setting perm and clinic at Maple Hair, Gwangmyeong

It was so hot this summer that I kept putting off going to the salon — why is it such a hassle to go get your hair done in the heat, haha. But I couldn't put it off any longer, so I finally went to Maple Hair, a salon near my place at Gwangmyeong Sageori.

The interior was clean and pleasant overall. I liked the touches of green scattered among the white and wood-tone furniture. Waiting while looking at the plants wasn't boring at all — the whole vibe was relaxing.

Thin hair condition before the perm

Here's what my hair looked like before treatment. The lengths were all over the place and it was so dry-looking that anyone could tell it needed care (T_T). Seeing the photo the stylist took, I thought, 'Ah, I should've come sooner.'

Since it had been a while since my last salon visit, I kept yawning awkwardly, but they gave me coffee and snacks so I didn't get bored sitting there. Thanks to that, the wait went by pleasantly.

How did the S-curl turn out on thin hair?

Here's the after photo. I told them my hair is thin and doesn't hold a perm well, so they wound it a bit tighter! I usually prefer a naturally soft S-curl, but every time before, the result ended up as weak as a curling iron wave and it bummed me out — this time I was totally satisfied! I could really feel how carefully they were paying attention.

I love it completely~ The perm turned out naturally, but doesn't my hair also look noticeably healthier thanks to the clinic treatment! I could go on a blind date tomorrow with this (bittersweet joke). I'm usually the type who barely brushes my hair or bothers with it, so getting the clinic done together with the perm in one go was so convenient and nice!

I was treated by Deputy Director Jueun, and I could really tell she has a lot of experience with S-curls — she worked carefully and quickly, so I could trust her completely!

I'd been feeling worn down day after day dealing with a breakup, but just changing my hair made me feel like a person again, haha.
