I went to Quokka Bite (쿼카바이트) in Gongdeok with a friend for handmade burgers. We ordered the Avocado Smash Quokka Burger and Grilled Quokka Burger as sets, and I especially remember the nutty buns and juicy patties.
Where is Quokka Bite, and when is it open?
The address is 11 Baekbeom-ro 24-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on the first floor. From Gongdeok Station, pass the Gongdeok Park Xi shopping area and enter the alley. The original post lists its hours as 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily, with a break from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
What is the atmosphere like inside and outside?
A quokka decoration greeted us outside. The exterior already had a cute feel, and the interior was compact too. The green chairs gave it a forest-like feel, while the plush toys and goods in the back made it feel Australian to me.
What are the burger set prices and ordering options?
The menu had several kinds of burgers, and it said that ordering a set gives a ₩2,000 discount. At the kiosk, we could change the side and drink, and the options were broken down in detail so that burger components could also be changed or added.
The Avocado Smash Quokka Burger set was ₩16,900 with M fries and Pepsi Zero Lime. For the Grilled Quokka Burger set, we chose M fries and an Americano. The original post lists the set at ₩14,900 and the Americano change at +₩1,000, so it needs confirmation whether the extra charge was included.
How did the burgers and fries taste?
The burgers arrived looking generously filled. We ordered the Avocado Smash Quokka Burger and Grilled Quokka Burger, and the nutty flavor of the buns and the juiciness of the patties particularly stood out as I ate.
There was plenty of sauce, and the pickles suited my taste. The vegetables, including tomato, avocado, and lettuce, tasted fresh. Each bite felt satisfyingly full.
The side fries were fairly thick. They were nutty and lightly salty, so they were good even without ketchup.
At the time of my visit, quokka hand fans were also being sold for ₩100. It was hot, so my friend and I took one each; the quokka illustrations on both sides were cute and made them nice keepsakes.
