It had been a while since I'd seen a friend, and I wanted somewhere we could have coffee and a nice brunch while chatting comfortably. So this time we went to Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch.

There are plenty of cafés around Dongchon Resort, but I liked that Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a fairly large store. Instead of feeling like a typical small café, the space is wide and relaxed, so it's great for sitting and talking with a friend for a long time, and you can enjoy brunch there too — solving everything in one trip.

How was the creamy mushroom pasta?

I started with the creamy mushroom pasta, and the cream sauce was smooth and paired well with the mushrooms — it was really good. Since it's a brunch dish from a café, I honestly didn't expect much, but the pasta was better than I thought, which was satisfying. It wasn't just something simple to nibble on with coffee — it was good enough to count as a full meal.

How generous was the chicken granola salad portion?

What I especially liked was the chicken granola salad. The portion was much more generous than I expected. Usually when you order a salad at a café the portion can feel a bit lacking, but here it was plenty, and eating it together with the pasta worked well for two people. It also had chicken in it, so instead of feeling like a light side salad, it was hearty enough to actually fill you up.

It seemed like a good spot for meeting friends casually, for enjoying a simple brunch with coffee, or for gatherings and meetings that need a bit more relaxed space.

There are times when you want to enjoy a café atmosphere but coffee alone feels like not enough, and yet just eating at a regular restaurant and leaving also feels lacking. This place was just right for that. I think it would suit anyone looking for a café around Dongchon Resort, or looking for a large café in Daegu where you can also enjoy brunch.
