Gangnam pasta restaurant for a wedding invitation meetup: Brivit

Since I've been getting ready for my wedding, I've had a lot of catching up with people lately haha. This time I planned to meet a close unnie (older sister-like friend) in Gangnam to hand over my wedding invitation. While thinking about where to meet, I remembered Brivit, the place I visited before for a wedding-invite meetup with a friend.

The atmosphere was great back then, but honestly the food was even better than I expected, so I decided to revisit! Sure enough, the second visit was just as satisfying, and my unnie kept saying the food was really good the whole time we ate — so let me introduce it as a great pasta spot in Gangnam.

Where is Brivit Gangnam?

Brivit Gangnam is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 6 of Sinnonhyeon Station, so it's very easy to get to. When making plans in Gangnam, it matters that both people can find the place easily, and being close to Sinnonhyeon Station makes it a solid choice for a Gangnam blind date or wedding-invite meetup.

The pretty exterior catches your eye the moment you arrive. It has such an aesthetic vibe that it's also great for photos.

How does Brivit work as a spot for a wedding-invite meetup or blind date?

The interior is clean yet has an emotional, cozy feel, so it works well not just for hanging out with friends but also for dates or a Gangnam blind date.

What did we eat at Brivit?

On this revisit to Brivit we ordered the green onion cream corn gnocchi, rabbit pasta, and spicy fried eggplant. There are a lot of dishes like pasta and gnocchi that are great for sharing, which made it easy to chat slowly with someone I hadn't seen in a while.

Green Onion Cream Corn Gnocchi 🌽

One of my favorite dishes at Brivit is the green onion cream corn gnocchi. The gnocchi's chewy yet fluffy texture combined with the sweet, nutty corn flavor was subtly addictive. The sauce was smooth and savory too, so when it coated the gnocchi generously, the flavor filled my whole mouth.

Creamy dishes can get heavy after a while, but the sweetness of the corn becomes a nice counterpoint that keeps you reaching for more! I remembered enjoying it on my last visit, and it was just as good this time haha.

Bouncing Rabbit Pasta 🐰

The rabbit pasta was something new I tried on this visit to Brivit! Honestly, when I ordered it I couldn't quite picture what it would taste like, so I was curious, but one bite in and I was surprised at how good it was. The pasta itself had strong umami flavor, and the cute rabbit-shaped cheese that came with it caught my eye visually right away.

I'd recommend eating the cheese together with the pasta rather than on its own! When you coat the noodles well in sauce and add a bit of the rabbit-shaped cheese, the nutty, smooth flavor of the cheese deepens the overall taste. It's not just a pretty-looking dish — the flavor delivers too, which is why it stood out to me most on this visit. If you want to try something a little different at a Gangnam pasta restaurant, I'd recommend the rabbit pasta.

Spicy Fried Eggplant 🍆

You can't skip the side dish, fried eggplant, when you come to Brivit haha. The fried eggplant we ordered together was seriously delicious too — the outside was fried crispy while the eggplant inside stayed moist and soft, and I loved that contrast in texture.

Eggplant can feel heavy when it soaks up too much oil, but Brivit's fried eggplant nails that crispy-outside, tender-inside balance, so I kept picking at it between bites of the main dishes. It was satisfying enough that if we'd only ordered pasta and gnocchi, we would have missed out! If you like eggplant, order this to share.

How was the portion size for two people?

With gnocchi, pasta, and fried eggplant all ordered, it was quite a generous spread for two, but we ended up finishing almost all of it. When the food first arrived, my unnie said, 'Can we really finish all this?' — that's how full the table looked. But bite by bite she kept saying, 'This is really good!' and ate so happily haha. In the end, the 'too much' food we worried about was almost completely gone.

I'd already been here once, but it made me weirdly proud when the person I brought said it was delicious haha. Eating good food while catching up on school days and how we've each been doing lately, the time flew by. The meetup was originally to hand over the wedding invitation, but getting to talk with my unnie like this after so long made the day even better ♡
