Seongsu late-night café: Dior view from the 3rd floor, LOOOP bear roll

I visited LOOOP Bakery (루프 베이커리 카페), a big, airy Seongsu dessert café where you can enjoy great coffee and baked goods in a roomy, comfortable space.

Is LOOOP in Seongsu worth visiting?

LOOOP Bakery is a wide-open Seongsu café that fills an entire building, and the desserts were so good I want to go back. I was in Seongsu not long ago, and after a tasty dinner I went looking for a decent café and found one I absolutely loved!!! It was already packed with customers, a real hotspot. I was happy with pretty much everything, and I'd go again!

How long is the walk from Seongsu Station to LOOOP?

LOOOP Bakery is within a 5-minute walk of Seongsu Station. It was a nice stroll, looking around the Seongsu streets on the way.

The whole big building is the café, so it stands out from far away, haha! A giant gift ribbon (?) is wrapped around the entire building, so you can't miss it even from down the street. 🎀

What are the LOOOP interior and floor seating like?

The inside of LOOOP Bakery is seriously spacious. I think it's the first café of this size I've been to in Seongsu. There are lots of seats and the space feels relaxed, which I liked.

On the 1st floor, by the window, there are open floor-to-ceiling window seats that suit coming alone or with a group. And note that the 1st-floor shop is open until 2 a.m.! Attention, anyone staying out late in Seongsu!

There's also a separate outdoor terrace. A cool breeze blowing, great atmosphere.

I went up to the 2nd and 3rd floors, and unlike the busy, lively 1st floor, it was quiet on a weekday. I heard there's a rooftop too, but I didn't make it all the way up, so that's for next time!

Out the 3rd-floor window of LOOOP, the Seongsu Dior store is right in front of you. Wait, what is this..! 🫢 The Dior store, one of the symbols of Seongsu, is right there!! Seeing it in the evening, the lighting made it so moody and much prettier. If you want the best seat, head up to the 3rd floor.

What bakery and dessert items does LOOOP have?

LOOOP is a great spot for bakery items and desserts. I went in the evening, so the desserts weren't all fully stocked, but they looked upscale at a glance.

They say they use French flour and imported butter, and it all felt really high-end.

There's a wide variety: cookies, canelés (small caramelized French cakes), pound cakes, pastries, croissants, salt bread and more, so deciding what to eat was hard..

By the way, LOOOP opens at 9:30 a.m., but bakery items go on sale from 12:00 p.m.

There's also a good variety of tasty cakes. So pretty..

LOOOP drink menu and prices

You can order easily at a kiosk at LOOOP. This time I ordered an iced Americano (₩6,000), a grapefruit natural juice (₩9,000) and a New York bear roll (₩8,000). There's a good range of drinks beyond coffee. For coffee in particular, you can reportedly choose from four specialty-bean blends to suit your taste. I think coffee lovers would be happy here.

Taste of the iced Americano and grapefruit natural juice

My coffee-loving friend got the iced Americano, and I'm a grapefruit fanatic, so I chose the grapefruit natural juice. The LOOOP Americano tasted clean and good.

The grapefruit natural juice wasn't artificial at all, just the true taste of the fruit, so it was clean and easy to drink. You can really taste the tangy freshness!

Before saying goodbye to the cute little bear, I took a commemorative photo.

What does the bear-shaped New York bear roll taste like inside?

The LOOOP New York bear roll (₩8,000) is a bear-face-shaped pastry packed with matcha cream. Time to dig into the bear roll I'd so ambitiously picked, but with that cute bear face, how was I supposed to cut it up.. I agonized for ages. 🐻

I mean, it's so cute, how can I eat it..? (But it was really delicious... haha)

And now, the tragic tale of the New York bear roll...

I boldly started with the ears. The ears have hardly any cream and a soft, pastry texture, so they were plain but tasty.

One huge bite. Then the cream inside slowly started to appear.. and the face was truly packed with matcha cream..!!!

I don't usually like cream that much, yet it was so good..?? Bittersweet, sweet matcha cream! Wait, I like matcha cream? The texture was great and it was full of matcha cream, so the flavor was great too!

I felt a little sorry for the bear roll, but it was a tasty, sweet time. 🐻

All around LOOOP Bakery there were nicely set up spots for taking photos. If you like taking photos like me, you'll have a blast! Taking photos is always a thrill..!

For a big Seongsu café and dessert café where you can enjoy tasty desserts in a clean, spacious space, I recommend LOOOP Bakery :)
