What kind of restaurant is Ciment Gung-dong in Daejeon?

Ciment Chungnam National University Branch is a Western restaurant on the 1st floor of 131 Daehak-ro, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, near Chungnam National University. I visited because it's famous as a pasta spot in Gung-dong, but the name Ciment struck me as so unusual at first haha!! This place is already a well-known Western food spot in Gung-dong!!

Ciment Chungnam National University Branch is located near Chungnam National University~ If you have business at the university, I highly recommend stopping by!! Whenever I travel to Daejeon, this is a place I always pass, so I made sure to visit~

Is Ciment busy right at opening time?

The moment I walked in, it was full of customers, with the owner and staff busy handling delivery orders too — orders just kept pouring in, clearly a popular spot. I deliberately timed my visit for opening hour, and it was already popular.

Ciment has lots of cute posters and props!! I wonder what's in there — tomato sauce maybe?? The posters really suit a stylish Western restaurant!

Not totally sure what they represent, but the Ciment Chungnam National University posters are pretty!! Looks like they were made in-house by Ciment~

Take a look at the tableware given per person!! There's an N in the middle, kind of looks like the Netflix logo haha

The word Ciment is written everywhere~ haha Come to the Chungnam National University branch and try the various Western dishes~!! The menu itself is such good value you can order a variety.

There's a kiosk set up at each table!! You can select your menu items and pay directly at the kiosk~!! So convenient to pay this way!

Seating at Ciment Gung-dong

Ciment, the Gung-dong pasta favorite, has a variety of seating ready!! Most seats are 4-tops!! 4-person, 2-person, and large group tables are all set up~!!

There are also tables that seat 6~! Looks good for a work dinner or a get-together with friends.

A small table perfect for two guests!! If seats are limited, I'd recommend two-person parties take the 2-tops~

Everything you need is well stocked throughout~!! The inside of Ciment Chungnam National University Branch is totally my style! Stylish and kind of kitschy? A Western-restaurant vibe???

What's on the self-serve bar?

Grab the side dishes you need at the self-serve bar~!! Everything you need to go with pizza and pasta is all set up~

Pickles and jalapeños are stocked generously!! And they're even kept cold~!! I love pickles so I piled on a full serving~

Hot sauce, parmesan cheese, and crushed pepper too!! Some of the hot sauces even come in individual portions~!! Pick whichever one you like and take it!

Ciment Chungnam National University Branch also serves nice cold draft beer!! This time I drove so I couldn't have any, but next time I'll definitely come back for a draft beer.

There's such a wide menu, and I ordered whatever I felt like eating~ Ciment in Daejeon really has a huge menu!! And on top of having so many options, it's really cheap... Can a menu really be this good value?

At the table, a small plate is set out in front of the kiosk~ Tissues are already provided too~ No need to ask separately for them!

Cutlery and dishware are all set before the food comes out!! The tableware itself is so stylish and I really like it.

The side dishes that come with every order

The basic side dishes are jalapeños and pickles.

And parmesan cheese and hot sauce. Take as much as you need~ A pizza under 15,000 won is such a reasonable price.

Drinks: Zero Coke and draft beer

Ordered a drink to go with the pizza and pasta! Still, out of conscience, I went with a Zero Coke... haha They also provide an ice cup and straw~

How do the salchi garlic oil pasta and half-and-half pizza taste?

Finally, today's Ciment Chungnam National University spread arrived!! Just one pizza and one pasta ordered, but it's this generous — it's got to be delicious~

The striploin is piled on generously.... I didn't expect it to be this abundant. The pizza is also surprisingly large for the price.

Premium Salchi Garlic Oil Pasta, 14,500 won

Picked the meat dish to make up for a protein shortage!! I thought it'd just be a plain oil pasta, but there's so much striploin.

Half-and-Half Special pizza: bulgogi salad and pepperoni

A pizza cheaper than the pasta — unbelievable. Went half bulgogi salad, half pepperoni!

Even the dishware is totally my style at Ciment Chungnam National University!! It's an oil pasta and they're generous with the oil too. The striploin on top is soft and just so delicious~

The pizza came out fresh so the cheese stretches beautifully~ You can order half-and-half with no extra charge!! Piled high with bulgogi and pepperoni!

If you come to Ciment, the Gung-dong pasta favorite, you absolutely have to order the striploin garlic oil pasta.

The cheese stretches on the bulgogi salad pizza. Being freshly made, it was still warm to eat~ Felt like eating pizza and salad at once!

Hard to believe this pizza is 14,000 won. You usually can't get dough, cheese, and toppings like this at this price, but at Ciment you can.

Twirling up the garlic oil pasta noodles to eat~ They gave a lot of meat, but the noodles are generous too!

Slice the pizza and portion it onto your small plate to eat. Personally, I'd recommend the bulgogi salad pizza if you visit Ciment!! You can get pepperoni pizza often, but bulgogi salad is only here!

Look at the thickness of the striploin. Isn't it unbelievable to get striploin this size at this price??? They gave six of these big chunks!

I'd recommend eating the meat and noodles together rather than separately. And then be sure to try the roasted garlic on the side~!!

They gave plenty of sauce so it's delicious right to the last bite!! The cherry tomatoes scattered throughout are the best too!! The kind of dish you want to scrape the sauce clean off the plate!

Ate the pasta, ate the pizza, it's all so good~!! Highly recommend the pepperoni pizza too!! I love the combo of cheese, pepperoni, and dough~
