Daejeon pasta spot for two: striploin oil, bulgogi cream at Ciment
In short
Ciment Chungnam National University Branch is a budget-friendly Western restaurant on Gung-dong Rodeo Street in Yuseong, Daejeon. On a weekend visit two friends shared striploin oil pasta at 14,500 won and bulgogi cream pasta at 9,500 won with sodas, and the striploin arrived grilled with no gamey smell while the oil pasta was lightly spicy rather than heavy. Ciment has no dedicated parking lot, but it is an easy, affordable Western meal near Chungnam National University and KAIST.

Sharing my review of a weekend meal at Ciment Gung-dong Chungnam National University Branch, a Western restaurant in Gung-dong, Daejeon :)
Where is Ciment Chungnam National University Branch? Hours and parking
Ciment Chungnam National University Branch is a Western restaurant located at 131 Daehak-ro, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, on Gung-dong Rodeo Street. It's open daily 10:40–21:40, last order 21:00, and there's no dedicated parking space.

You could check some of the menu from outside the Ciment location on Gung-dong Rodeo Street, and there was a standing sign so the place was easy to find. There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to find a nearby public parking lot or a white-line spot in a nearby alley haha.

Inside Ciment: seating mood and the self-bar
True to its name, the inside of Ciment Chungnam National University Branch is decorated with cement-textured walls, and on the weekend there were plenty of friends, couples, and families dining. Water and basic side dishes are self-serve.
Here's a look at the inside of this Western restaurant in Gung-dong, though I don't have many photos since it was pretty crowded ㅜㅜ Maybe because it's getting cooler out, the entrance was open, so instead of cool AC we got to eat in warm sunlight, and lots of friends, couples, and families were visiting.

You could see the interior walls decorated to match the cement theme of the name Ciment

Also noted: a country-of-origin sign near the counter, and a restroom in the back of the store
Oh, and water and basic side dishes are grabbed from the self-bar, which also had pickles, hot sauce, and parmesan powder. You just fill up water from the filtered water dispenser.

The table setting was neat, with a small plate, fork, spoon, and napkin already laid out, and you order using the tablet on the table.
Ciment menu prices: half-and-half pizza 14,000 won
The menu at Ciment Chungnam National University Branch includes steak, pasta, pizza, risotto, pilaf, and even pork cutlet, all at friendly prices. All pizzas can be ordered half-and-half, and the half-and-half pizza is ₩14,000.

Looking through the menu at this Gung-dong Western restaurant, you can see steak, pasta, pizza, risotto, pilaf, and even pork cutlet, and the prices across the board are really reasonable.
Pasta, one of the staples of Western food, comes in several types — cream, tomato, oil, basil, and more. I didn't order pizza this visit, but the fact that every pizza can be made half-and-half for ₩14,000 is such great value

Besides the mains, there are also side dishes, plus salads, ades, sodas, and even beer to order according to your taste

First up, the sodas my friend and I each ordered came with a bit of ice in the cup, so they were nice and cold.
Beef striploin oil pasta ₩14,500 / Bulgogi cream pasta ₩9,500 / Zero Coke ₩2,500 / Coca-Cola ₩2,500
Bulgogi cream pasta, 9,500 won
The bulgogi cream pasta is ₩9,500, and the portion was quite generous. It was packed with thinly sliced meat and the cream sauce was thick and well soaked in.

My friend's pick, the bulgogi cream pasta, came sprinkled with yellow cheese powder and looked really appetizing — and for under ₩10,000, the portion was quite generous and it tasted great too :)

It was packed with thin slices of meat and the cream sauce was nicely thick and well soaked in, so if you love cream pasta you'd be happy haha

Striploin oil pasta, 14,500 won
My pick, the beef striploin oil pasta, is ₩14,500, topped with julienned perilla leaf, grilled cherry tomato and garlic garnish, and a grilled piece of beef striploin on the side. It had just a touch of spice so it wasn't greasy, and the noodles were cooked just right.
Here's the beef striploin oil pasta I picked

Julienned perilla leaf was piled in the center, with grilled cherry tomatoes and garlic as garnish, and on one side, an appetizing grilled piece of beef striploin~!

Beef striploin is one of my favorite cuts, and it came grilled well with no gamey smell or toughness — putting a piece on the pasta made it taste even better haha. The pasta also had just a little spice so it wasn't greasy, and the noodles were cooked just right, so I immediately understood why this place is so popular

Is Ciment in Gung-dong worth it? Final verdict
A Daejeon Western spot that nails both value and taste — if you're looking for somewhere to eat near Chungnam National University and KAIST in Gung-dong, this could be a nice easy option :)
