Daegu Texas barbecue dinner platter at Modak Texas Barbecue

After shopping at Daegu Shinsegae Department Store, we decided to have dinner—and there was a Modak Texas right by Dongdaegu Station, just like that ❤️❤️ So we headed over straight away! A Texas-Style Barbecue Restaurant Near Dongdaegu Station

Modak Texas Barbecue Dongdaegu Branch (모닥 텍사스바베큐 동대구점) specializes in Texas-style barbecue, with all kinds of meat dishes including pulled pork, brisket, and tomahawk steak. It is a great steak spot near Dongdaegu Station when you really want to eat some proper meat 🥩🥩

The red-brick exterior really catches your eye, even from a distance 🧱🧱 Its American-inspired mood gave off such strong Modak Texas vibes from the first look!

Is Parking Supported Near Dongdaegu Station?

Parking around Dongdaegu Station can be a bit of a concern, so it was nice that Modak Texas helps cover nearby parking fees. If you park at the MD Building parking lot and spend over ₩50,000 on your meal, they say you receive 1 hour 30 minutes and ₩4,000 in support.

Inside, the wood-and-black-toned interior immediately stood out. It felt like a stylish restaurant while still having that distinctive American barbecue-joint atmosphere 🤎🤎 There were tables where you could dine privately, so it looked nice for a family visit or a get-together with friends. There is group seating too, so I thought it would work well for a Dongdaegu Station company dinner or gathering.

Each table had a kiosk, which made it easy to look through the menu and order ☺️

And if you are visiting with children, there is a welcome little space: the Marshmallow Zone 🐥🐥 I went with a child, and they absolutely loved it there, haha. Worth noting if you are looking for somewhere to eat with kids.

Modak Texas Menu and Prices

The menu has sets for two, three, and four people. If I had visited for lunch, the lunch-special sets looked like great value, so I would love to come back at lunchtime. But this was a dinner visit, so lunch specials were a pass, pass 🥲🥲 There were lots of choices, from brisket and pulled pork to tomahawk steak and pasta, plus a new lobster menu.

Texas Platter for Two and Shrimp Cream Pasta

• Texas platter set for two, ₩57,000: 150 g brisket, 150 g pulled pork, and 3 buffalo wings
• Sides: 3 barbecue sauces, salad, coleslaw, fries, pico de gallo, and tortillas
• Added shrimp cream pasta for ₩15,000

First, we tried the complimentary nachos and beef chili soup. The beef chili soup had a slight kick that really got the appetite going 🫢🫢

Then the Texas platter set for two we had been waiting for arrived ❤️❤️ The visuals alone were so impressive that I went, oooh, the moment it came out 🫢🫢 With brisket, pulled pork, buffalo wings, and all those sides piled onto one plate, it looked generous before we had even started. At first I wondered if it might not be enough for three people—but that was completely wrong, haha. As we ate, the portion was so substantial that we actually had leftovers!

The brisket and pulled pork were delicious wrapped in tortillas with whichever ingredients and sauces we wanted. It was fun making the wraps, and it was nice having several sauces to choose from according to our tastes 👍

We also ordered the shrimp cream pasta 🍤🍤 It was listed as a best menu item, so we gave it a try, and honestly, it was such a good order. The sauce was thick and rich, the shrimp and cream worked beautifully together, and the pasta itself was delicious. I love Outback's Toowoomba pasta, but personally, I enjoyed this shrimp cream pasta even more than Toowoomba 🫢🫢 The portions were generous overall and the menu made for a really satisfying, filling dinner ☺️☺️

When you want to eat some proper meat, come here! A great Dongdaegu Station steak spot with generous Texas barbecue and delicious pasta too 👍👍
