I met up with my boyfriend after he got off work and we finally went to eat some proper meat together :)
We were both exhausted that day, so we said "let's eat something delicious today!" and went looking. This time we visited Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong Station branch (국민한우집 삼성역본점)! If you're near Samseong Station looking for hanwoo (Korean beef) after work, this is a place worth keeping an eye on.
Where is Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong Station branch?
Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong Station branch is on the 1st floor at 15 Teheran-ro 86-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, about a 3–5 minute walk from Exit 4 of Samseong Station on Line 2 (near the Daechi-dong commercial area). It's open daily from 11:30 to 22:00, and there's parking support near the restaurant. They use top-grade 1++ female hanwoo, and in one line: tight marbling, tender texture.
There are a ton of office workers around Samseong Station, so during after-work hours the area buzzes with company dinners and evening appointments. Gungmin Hanwoo House felt like a proper premium hanwoo place but not so formal that it was intimidating, so it worked fine as a date spot with my boyfriend too.
Especially when you eat hanwoo, you tend to worry about the meat smell sticking to your clothes, but the interior was clean and pleasant, so I felt little discomfort during the meal. The whole place was kept spotless, which I really liked.

When looking for a good Samseong Station restaurant for meat, taste matters but so does the atmosphere. This place felt like it would suit both office dinners and family gatherings.

And while we waited after ordering, a nice charcoal fire came out haha

How much is wine corkage? 10,000 won a bottle, opener and chilled glasses included
Corkage at Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong Station branch was a nice ₩10,000 per bottle. It felt like a waste to just eat meat that day, so we brought a bottle of wine along.

They even prepared an opener and chilled glasses for us, which was great.
The wine we drank was Primitivo di Manduria. Primitivo is known for its ripe dark-fruit flavors and a rich, heavy style. It pairs well with soft, rich hanwoo. One bite of meat, one sip of wine — the combination turned out way better than I expected.
The banchan spread and hanwoo minari yukhoe
The banchan (side dishes) came out generously from the start, which I liked. Picking through the geotjeori, baengmogi mushrooms, gungchae namul, and bean sprout namul one by one really got my appetite going before the meat even arrived haha

Baengmogi mushroom isn't a common side dish, so its crunchy-crisp texture surprised me! But the one I remember most was the hanwoo minari yukhoe (Korean beef tartare with water celery).

The savory, tender flavor typical of yukhoe combined with the fragrant minari made for a really good pairing. Once you start picking at this before the meat arrives, it disappears fast haha
They also gave us mushrooms and kkwariogochu (shishito-style peppers) to grill in olive oil on the side. Grabbing a mushroom or grilling a pepper between rounds of meat was a nice little treat.

Premium Assorted 400g for 95,000 won: what the four cuts are
Check the menu in the photo above! What we ordered was the Premium Assorted 400g. It cost ₩95,000.

It came with tenderloin, salchisal, top sirloin, and whole short rib together, so I liked being able to try several cuts at once.

Most of all, the plating was really pretty. The meat was arranged neatly in a stacked, layered-wood kind of shape, which gave it a real premium feel.

You have to photograph this the second it arrives...haha. They said they only handle carefully selected 1++ hanwoo, and once the meat hit the grill, the marbling really did look tight and dense. They kindly told us to grill from the top piece first! With the sizzling sound added on top, there's nothing better for a dinner after work.

We were looking for good hanwoo near Samseong Station thinking "let's actually eat proper meat today!" and the very first look at it raised our expectations.

How each cut tasted: tenderloin, chuck flap tail, prime sirloin, whole short rib
We started with the tenderloin. It chewed soft without any toughness or stiffness, clean-tasting with the subtle savory flavor unique to hanwoo. Next was the salchisal I'd been looking forward to!

The salchisal had its own tender texture and was even more savory than the tenderloin — I liked that it wasn't tough at all!

And the top sirloin and whole short rib got more savory the more you chewed. Browned outside and left juicy inside, you could really taste the richness of the hanwoo! Korean beef really is the best haha. They had a different appeal from the softer tenderloin, so each cut's texture felt distinctly different.

We ate through the side dishes here and there too, and they were tasty haha. Of the four cuts we had that day, the salchisal and whole short rib stood out most to me personally. I guess with hanwoo, eating a little of several cuts instead of just one keeps it from getting boring and lets you enjoy it more ^_^
Stews and noodles: saving the rice dishes for next time
Eating like this, we filled up pretty quickly. Honestly, I was curious about the other menu items too. They also have rice dishes like chadol doenjang jjigae with hanwoo chadolbagi, doenjang sulbap, and naengmyeon, plus various other specialty cuts — I wanted to try those next time.
But that day we were so full from meat plus wine that we ended up skipping the rice dishes. Such a shame... (┬┬﹏┬┬)
Still, meeting my boyfriend after work for good hanwoo and wine after a long time really melted away the day's fatigue. I especially liked the clean, pleasant interior, the neat and premium plating, and being able to enjoy hanwoo's different flavors cut by cut in a good-value set.

I think this is worth a visit for office workers looking for a good Samseong Station meat restaurant, anyone who wants a hanwoo date after work, or anyone searching for good beef around Daechi-dong. It especially suits an after-work company dinner, a dinner date with a partner, or a family gathering — days when you want a proper meal. If you're looking for hanwoo near Samseong Station, keep this one in mind :)
