Seoul Korean restaurant with free parking in Gangnam: Seolleung Dowon

I recently went to Seolleung for work, and since my girlfriend also had something to do nearby, we decided to grab a meal somewhere with a nice atmosphere — so we headed to Seolleung Dowon, a well-known spot in the area.

• Closed every Sunday

It's close to Exit 1 of Seolleung Station, and you can even park there! I think this place beats out everything else nearby haha.

How to find Seolleung Dowon from Seolleung Station Exit 1

From outside the shop, the moment we walked in, I was genuinely surprised by how modern and clean the atmosphere was.

Next to the entrance there's an intro note about Seolleung Dowon, and you can 200% feel how serious the owner is about Korean food 🥺 As a couple who love Korean food.. just reading that intro before even eating anything made us think, we made the right call coming here haha.

Seating for a date or a work dinner: large private room and terrace

The interior of Seolleung Dowon Seolleung Main Branch has soft lighting and a luxurious wood-toned interior that blend together beautifully, making it a perfect date spot. There were already other guests when we visited so I couldn't take a photo, but there's also a large private room, so it seems great for group visits or work dinners too!

There's also a terrace seating area on one side, and even though it was rainy the day I went so the terrace wasn't in use.. on a nice day, eating outside there would be lovely. Certified great atmosphere 👍

What's on the Seolleung Dowon menu, including Korean traditional liquors

The menu really has a lot of variety. From Seolleung Dowon's signature dowon shabu, to boiled pork, hot pots and pancake-style dishes, and various other anju (drinking snacks), plus a range of Korean traditional liquors! If I hadn't been driving I would've wanted to try a bottle of Dowon Gyeorui, but I'll save the drinking for next time haha.

The complimentary potato salad that starts the meal

One of the best things about this place is the complimentary potato salad that comes standard.

It comes out looking pretty, like ice cream, and one bite is so soft and sweet — perfect for whetting your appetite.

Signature dowon shabu: taste and portion size

The signature dish of Seolleung Dowon! We ordered the dowon shabu.

The visual is just.. the kind of visual that makes you grab your camera first ❤️ The meat and bean sprouts came piled up like a mountain, so generous.

The broth was very clean and refreshing, which was exactly my taste since I like flavors that aren't too intense. Once it starts bubbling, you just dip the crunchy bean sprouts and tender meat into the sauce and eat.

The texture was great and the broth had such deep flavor that it felt like an instant hangover cure lol. The portion was bigger than expected, plenty for sharing between two people too.

Parking near Seolleung Station: 60 minutes free in the basement lot

No matter how many times I go, parking near Seolleung Station always feels really tough. But Seolleung Dowon has a spacious basement parking lot inside the building! Even people who visit by car like me can eat comfortably without any parking stress haha.

Basically you get 60 minutes free parking, and the extra charge caps out at ₩3,000, so it's great that you don't have to worry about parking at all haha.
