CMS Soundbar is an LP sound bar great for a second round in the Seoul Jungang Market and Hwanghakdong Dokkaebi Market area right in front of Sindang Station. After enjoying a first round at a bar inside Seoul Jungang Market and Hwanghakdong Dokkaebi Market right in front of Sindang Station, I wanted somewhere with good whiskey and music for round two. That's when I found CMS Soundbar! It's known as an LP bar in Seoul, and being close to the hot spots in Sindang, it's a great-vibe place for a second round. I bet a lot of you are searching blogs for a good-vibe bar in Sindang — trust me, someone who's been checking off good-vibe bars all over Seoul, and definitely give this place a try haha.

How to walk to CMS Soundbar from Sindang Station

The path up to CMS Soundbar on the 2nd floor. It's close to hot restaurants and bars like Okgyeongine Freshfish and Lacaille, so it was super easy to find. We had tacos first at Lacaille, a hot spot inside the market, then walked about 5 minutes to reach CMS. It's also within 5 minutes on foot from Sindang Station Exits 1 and 2, making it a great transit-friendly bar for meeting up for drinks.

Inside CMS Soundbar: interior and atmosphere

The interior has such a moody vibe. True to a sound bar in Sindang, they play music straight off LPs, which made the atmosphere so good. And as a space run by an LP-collecting owner, browsing the records was a fun bonus.

CMS Soundbar is located at 10-27 Toegye-ro 83-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, 2nd floor, open Mon-Sun 19:00-24:00, Fri-Sat 19:00-01:00. Note that on Fridays and Saturdays they stay open until 1am!

Drinks and prices at CMS Soundbar

The menu is broadly divided into cocktails, whiskey, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks. Prices are pretty reasonable too. The snacks are mostly simple bites to pair with drinks.

The cocktail I picked was the gin tonic! Wait, haha, why is the portion so huge. The gin tonic came in a generous amount and the strength was just right, so I really liked it. Is this what they mean by the generosity of Seoul's LP bars?

Fruit Loops came out as the basic snack. Got a little nostalgic remembering the cereal I used to eat as a kid.

Tuna canapé, 12,000 won

I had already eaten a full meal but couldn't resist the tuna canape.

The amount of tuna on the canape was more than I expected, which I loved haha. And since one drink wasn't enough for us, we ordered whiskey too — Laphroaig 10 Years and Wild Turkey 8 Years. My friend who likes peat picked the Laphroaig, and I, a bourbon lover, picked the Wild Turkey.

The tuna canape paired perfectly with the whiskey! And the music was so good it was easy to lose track of time in a great way.

Restrooms and the verdict on CMS Soundbar

The restroom at CMS Soundbar is located inside and separated by gender, which made it feel clean and comfortable. I absolutely hate restrooms located outside that are unisex (a lot of bars these days are like that, ugh), but the restroom at CMS Cocktail Bar is inside and separated, which I loved! The owner was also super kind, so I'm at 10000% likely to come back. If you're out playing in Sindang, definitely check this place out for your second or third round haha.
