How to find Another Level in the Hipjiro alleys

Enter the Hip-jiro alley, then turn into the alley to the left of the oven chicken restaurant.

And there's the elevator that takes you up to Another Level's rooftop bar!

The indoor space had a cozy, retro vibe that caught my eye for a moment, but the weather was so good we headed straight up to the rooftop!

How big is the rooftop, what's the Jongno view like, and do you need a reservation?

Another Level's rooftop was way bigger than I expected! An open city view taking in Jongno's high-rises all at once···♥ It felt so refreshing. I went around 5pm on a Saturday, and it filled up completely not long after. Rooftop seats can be booked through Naver Reservation, so if you're planning to visit, I'd recommend reserving ahead!

The rooftop is of course non-smoking, and outside food like cake isn't allowed!

Another Level menu and prices

Besides double-plus Korean beef yukhoe (raw beef), pasta, and rice porridge in a stone pot, there are also lighter options like fries, nachos, and fruit.

I got there a bit early while the sun was still up, so it was a tad hot. But one sip of a cold draft beer and the heat vanished in an instant.

My friend ordered the yuzu highball, and it was so sweet and refreshing she finished it in no time!! While we sat and chatted, the sun set and a cool breeze started blowing — this, I thought, is exactly why people eat outdoors at a yajang.

The basic snack that comes out is a light, savory potato-chip-style snack, and you can refill it freely at the rooftop entrance if you run out.

Grilled brie, 19,000 won: easy even if raw brie isn't your thing

I once tried raw brie and wasn't a fan of the texture or taste, so I hadn't really eaten it since. But it kept popping up on Instagram as delicious grilled brie, so I was curious, and since it was on the menu I ordered it right away haha.

The brie has slits cut into it, packed with garlic in between. On top, there's sweet honey drizzled over it, plus a generous amount of nuts like walnuts and cashews.

None of the funky smell or texture of raw brie that I disliked was there at all! It tasted strongly of sweet garlic, almost like eating garlic baguette or garlic bread.

The brie wasn't fully cut through, so I was struggling with my fork trying to cut it, when my friend told me it comes off easily if you twist it. I twisted and pulled, and sure enough, it came right off haha.

Put some nuts and cheese on the crackers that come with it, and it's sweet and nutty — the perfect drinking snack. Even though I was already full, I couldn't stop eating it···♥ I glanced around at other tables to see what everyone was having, and lots of people were eating the stone pot pasta, melon, and tomato burrata salad.

Before we knew it, the sun had set and it was dark out — and yeah, Seoul's night view really is the best,,,🌃 Happy pocket♥️

Final verdict on Another Level

With plenty of simple snacks to enjoy, this place works well whether it's your first stop or your second or third. When you're drinking outdoors, the bathroom being far away is usually a hassle, but here it's conveniently close by.
