Chungju jokbal restaurant group dinner for 3: Deomasitneun Seochungju
In short
Deomasitneun Jokbal Bossam Seochungju Branch is a jokbal (braised pig's trotters) and bossam restaurant in Jungangtap-myeon, Chungju. Three adults ordered the half-and-half jokbal and the kitchen added free mak-guksu (chilled buckwheat noodles) and sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew), so much food that the table left leftovers, with the fire jokbal and rice balls the standout combination. Deomasitneun Jokbal Bossam fills up even on weekdays, so a reservation is essential for a group dinner.

Deomasitneun Jokbal Bossam Seochungju Branch

Hi, this is Harong. A friend told me about a jokbal place in Seochungju that's really good, so I went, and it turned out to be a real, real, real find — I had to share it with you all.

Why this Chungju jokbal restaurant stands out: free mak-guksu and sundubu-jjigae
The big draw at Deomasitneun Jokbal Bossam Seochungju Branch is the free food. Sundubu-jjigae, free! Mak-guksu, free! They give you both as complimentary dishes. Just those two would add up to a decent amount of money, but the owner generously threw them in.
Inside Deomasitneun Jokbal Bossam: is there a wait when every table is full?
The interior of Deomasitneun Jokbal Bossam Seochungju Branch is laid out in a long rectangle, and by evening it was nearly full.
The full interior

The interior was set up in a long rectangular shape.

I have to admit it's a genuinely popular Seochungju spot — every table was taken. If you show up a little late, you might have to wait.

All the remaining tables were reserved. I'd booked ahead too, so I didn't have to wait, but if you're visiting with a family gathering or a Seochungju group dinner, reserving in advance seems essential.
The Deomasitneun Jokbal Bossam menu and how to order
You order from a tablet placed on the table. There's also a separate menu board, which made it easy to see everything at a glance.
The Deomasitneun menu board

Ordering is done through the tablet on the table. Since I'm a food blogger, I snapped a photo of the easy-to-read menu board for you.

All the meat at Deomasitneun is made with domestic Dodram fresh pig's trotters. I thought it tasted great, and sure enough — domestic pork, of course 💕💕

What's on the self-serve bar
My beloved self-serve bar corner was set up too.

There was lettuce for wraps, cold salad, cabbage kimchi, green onion kimchi, white kimchi, salted shrimp, seasoned salted shrimp, and radish kimchi, among other things.
How big are the free mak-guksu and sundubu-jjigae portions?
Mak-guksu, free! Sundubu-jjigae, free!

The complimentary dishes I mentioned earlier arrived — mak-guksu, the perfect match for jokbal and bossam. Since it was free, I expected a small portion, but it was actually really generous, and the tangy-sweet flavor was completely my style.

Hot broth with a spicy kick — the flavor was seriously savory. My friend raved about the soup and slurped down every last drop... not that I'm telling on her haha.
Half-and-half jokbal for three: original versus fire jokbal
We ordered the half-and-half jokbal. Three adults went, and even with the extra free dishes, we ended up leaving food behind.

My half-and-half jokbal arrived, and I was shocked by how much food there was the moment it showed up. There were three of us adults, but between the free dishes and the jokbal itself, the portion was so huge we had to leave some behind. I'll admit it — this place is generous!!

Gotta start with the chewy, tender original jokbal. Not a hint of gaminess, just chewy and satisfying — so good.

And here comes the fire jokbal! Both types were delicious, but I liked the fire jokbal a bit more. That smoky, spicy flavor hits right away and cuts through jokbal's slight richness perfectly — the kind of flavor you never get tired of, no matter how much you eat!
Fire jokbal with rice balls: how we ate it

Of course fire jokbal needs rice balls haha. Owner, thank you for not skimping on the rice ball ingredients at all — you piled them on so thick you couldn't even see the rice!!
Mixing up the rice balls by hand

Eating rice balls together with fire jokbal like this — how good could that possibly be??

My friends ate faster than I could make the rice balls, so I gave up on shaping them and just started scooping everything up with a spoon haha. However you eat it, eating it happily is what matters most 👍
How to get the 7,000 won discount
This might be the best jokbal place I've had all year. If it were closer, I'd probably go once a month. A place I'm extremely, extremely fond of.
Also, right now if you search for Deomasitneun Jokbal Bossam Seochungju Branch on Naver Map, they're offering a ₩7,000 discount coupon!! Definitely grab the coupon and enjoy the meal for a bit less.
That wraps up my honest review of Deomasitneun Jokbal Bossam Seochungju Branch, a Seochungju favorite I highly recommend for a jokbal group dinner.
