Pyeongtaek BBQ restaurant, stew: Ihwajeong Charcoal-Grilled Pork Galbi

I went out for a weekend family meal at Ihwajeong Charcoal-Grilled Pork Galbi, a great galbi spot in Pyeongtaek!

My family loves galbi, so we often go looking for good places, and Ihwajeong Charcoal-Grilled Pork Galbi turned out to be a big meat restaurant that is perfect for family meals or group gatherings in Pyeongtaek—the parking is easy and the dining room is spacious too ✨ We ordered marinated galbi and beef rib meat, and really, galbi tastes best grilled over charcoal haha.

One of my favorite things was the parking!!! Just park in the dedicated lot right in front of Ihwajeong Charcoal-Grilled Pork Galbi—it is sooooo spacious that you do not need to worry about parking at all ^^

A spacious restaurant for family meals and group gatherings

The restaurant is big and pleasant haha. There were seats all the way to the back on the other side too, beyond the area I photographed. With its spacious dining room, dedicated parking, self-service bar, and high chairs, it looked great for family meals, group gatherings, or company dinners.

Maybe because we came after weekday lunchtime, we could leisurely choose wherever we wanted to sit.

Ordering marinated pork and beef rib meat

There were four of us, but some family members had eaten beforehand, so we ordered two portions of the signature Ihwajeong marinated pork, one portion of beef rib meat, and doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew)!

More banchan from the self-service bar

The banchan (Korean side dishes) came out first and... I loved them 🤤 There was japchae, salad, potato salad, spicy marinated raw crab, shredded radish salad, and other appetizing sides. For more, you can comfortably help yourself at the self-service bar.

Marinated galbi and beef rib meat grilled over charcoal

The Ihwajeong marinated pork galbi and beef rib meat arrived! The beef rib meat was described as top-grade meat topped generously with garlic in a special yukjang sauce, while the marinated pork galbi had been cross-aged for 144 hours, so I was very excited..

We put the meat on the hot charcoal grill.. We put the pork galbi and beef rib meat on together, and the meat itself was so fresh 🥹

(They told us to grill it by rolling it around, so I am being a good listener.)

Ihwajeong’s marinated pork galbi was tender, perhaps because it had been aged for a long time in a marinade that brings out the sweetness of pear. Grilling it over charcoal added a smoky note to that sweet-savory marinade, and it was so delicious ㅜㅜㅜ.. Making a wrap with the shredded radish salad served among the sides was such a good combination too 🤤

Doenjang-jjigae and pear slush you will want to order

I ordered the doenjang-jjigae because I always like having it with meat, and wow,, I found a true doenjang-jjigae gem,,! If you are planning to visit Ihwajeong Charcoal-Grilled Pork Galbi, please order the doenjang-jjigae. My parents agreed too.

Once we finished the pear slush prepared for dessert, the meal was over-!!! It has a sweet pear drink flavor, perfect for cleansing the palate.

If you are looking for a galbi restaurant in Pyeongtaek with easy parking and a spacious dining room, I recommend Ihwajeong Charcoal-Grilled Pork Galbi. The charcoal-grilled marinated pork galbi and beef rib meat are delicious, and especially the doenjang-jjigae is soooo good.. ㅜㅜ Be sure to order it.
