Over the weekend, I went out for dinner with my whole family! This time, my mom and dad said they were craving pork galbi, so while looking for somewhere to go, we ended up at Ihwajeong Charcoal-Grilled Pork Galbi! The pork galbi was so good I could pass out~ 🥹 We all ate until we were bursting, haha.

Ihwajeong Charcoal-Grilled Pork Galbi in Pyeongtaek: Information
The address is 1662 Manse-ro, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hours are 16:00–22:00 Monday through Friday and 10:00–22:00 on Saturday and Sunday, with no break time.

Tender Charcoal-Grilled Pork Galbi
Since we came for pork galbi, we got right to grilling the meat properly first. Wow... the meat was seriously tender.

The marinade was not just overly sweet, and grilling it over charcoal added that smoky flavor, so it was incredibly tasty. My parents said it was good too, which made me weirdly proud, haha. A family meal is only a success when the parents enjoy it, right?

What We Ordered
- Ihwajeong Signature Marinated Pork ₩17,000 × 4 servings
- Mul naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in broth) ₩8,000
- Bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) ₩8,000
- Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) ₩5,000
- Steamed rice ₩1,000 × 3

Side Dishes That Pair Well with Pork Galbi
I also really liked the selection of side dishes at Ihwajeong. There was seasoned lettuce salad, pickled onions, pickled sweet potato stems, shredded radish, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), and more—every single one was tasty.

Pork galbi has a sweet marinade, so I liked having so many refreshing side dishes to eat with it. The self-service bar was well stocked too, so we could easily get more of anything we ran out of.
Spacious Seating for Family Meals and Work Dinners
Ihwajeong has its dining area on the second floor, and it was much bigger inside than I expected. There were quite a few people, but I was surprised that it was quiet rather than noisy and hectic.

The tables were roomy and the sections were nicely separated, so we could eat comfortably without worrying about the next table. The tables themselves were wide too, so even with meat, side dishes, and stew all spread out, they never felt cramped.

As we ate, I kept thinking, “This would be really great for a work dinner too!” There was plenty of space for groups, so I think it would suit not only family meals but also anyone looking for a good meat restaurant in Sosabeol.
And the staff were really kind too. Whenever we were about to ask for more side dishes, they thoughtfully got everything ready for us first, quick quick quick.

Overall, it felt like they paid close attention to their guests, so we had no inconvenience throughout the meal. The food was delicious and the staff were kind, so I was glad we came here to eat with the family.
Finishing Properly with Naengmyeon and Doenjang Jjigae
My family was never going to stop at just meat, haha. We ordered a full meal too and ate properly. Finishing the pork galbi with naengmyeon, then having rice with doenjang jjigae... I seriously felt like I was going to burst, haha 🐽

In the end, we took a whole hour-and-a-half walk before going home to digest, and I still was not hungry... That just means we ate that much that day, right? 🤣
We visited because my parents wanted pork galbi, but I ended up enjoying Ihwajeong Charcoal-Grilled Pork Galbi just as much! From the tender pork galbi and varied side dishes to the spacious, quiet dining area and kind service, I was happy with everything overall. The space is especially roomy and the seating is well separated, so it seems like a good choice for family meals, work dinners, and group meals too!!!
