Gwanak group fitness gym with Fat Burn and Volume: Fist X
In short
Fist X Seoul National University Entrance is a group fitness space in Gwanak, Seoul, where I joined a coach and team members for a sponsored workout session. The Fat Burn and Volume options made it easy to choose a goal, and exercising together was more fun than working out alone, though the Grey Zone felt extremely intense.

Why I looked for a group workout near Seoul National University Entrance Station
With two weeks left before my first fitting for formalwear, I thought I should pay closer attention to managing my weight. I happened to receive an opportunity to try a workout at Fist X Seoul National University Entrance (피스트엑스 서울대입구), so I visited.
Looking at photos, I felt my face and build had changed from before. When I go to the gym alone, I tend to reduce my workout because I am tired, so I wondered what exercising with others would be like.
What are the location, hours, and parking conditions?
Fist X Seoul National University Entrance is on basement level 1 of Yeongin MC Building, 456 Bongcheon-ro, Gwanak-gu, Seoul. I entered through the small door on the building's first floor.
The hours posted when I visited were 06:20–23:00 on weekdays, with a break from 12:00–13:00. It operates from 08:30–12:30 on Saturdays and is regularly closed on Sundays.
Parking is available in the same building, and the listed fee was about ₩2,000 per hour. However, it is mechanical parking, so larger vehicles and electric cars may be difficult to accommodate, which was disappointing.
What were the basement workout space and showers like?
The space was more spacious than I expected. Although it was underground, it did not feel stuffy, and the ventilation was good when I visited, so I did not notice a sweat smell. The equipment was organized by type, making the overall space feel neat.
There was also an InBody machine and lockers. The changing room was spacious, and the showers had partitions, making it convenient to wash up after exercising.
How do Fat Burn and Volume differ?
The curriculum was divided into Fat Burn, primarily for body-fat loss, and Volume, primarily for building muscle. Both combine strength and cardio training for one hour, but the balance changes depending on what you choose.
Fat Burn puts more emphasis on cardio, while Volume puts more emphasis on strength training. Rather than doing only one type of exercise, you can choose the ratio of the two based on your goal.
The Black Zone was the strength-training area. Since I had worked out at a gym before, I found the exercises there relatively manageable.
In contrast, the Grey Zone was so difficult that I collapsed several times and felt dizzy. The intensity felt quite high for me, and I somehow got through it because I was with the team members.
How do class booking and cancellation work?
After signing up, I entered the Fist X Seoul National University Entrance branch community in the Untalk app I was directed to use. There, I could check the curriculum and time slots and book a class.
I could choose Fat Burn or Volume by date and time. The app also listed the strength-training area mainly covered in that class, such as the chest.
Booking through the app was simple, but cancellations were only possible until two hours before class began. Since cancelling later deducts a session, I needed to check the time carefully.
How did it compare with working out alone?
It was definitely more fun than exercising alone. Working with a coach and team members at a set time meant that, instead of cutting my workout short as usual, I kept going until the end.
Still, the Grey Zone workout was very demanding. I liked being able to choose a curriculum based on my exercise goal, and afterward I was left with the satisfying feeling of having worked up a sweat and completed the workout.
