Fist X Seoul National University Entrance is a group training center a 2–3 minute walk from Exit 5 of Seoul National University Entrance Station in Gwanak, Seoul. Could I keep up with a CrossFit class as a beginner?
I have tried various kinds of exercise, but this was my first time doing CrossFit. I hesitated because the movements and class format felt unfamiliar and seemed very demanding, then visited Fist X Seoul National University Entrance. I was told that it combines CrossFit and weight training, letting you do cardio and strength work in one class.
At first, I was nervous around the unfamiliar equipment and lively class atmosphere. The coach checked my form one movement at a time, and the other participants praised and encouraged me, so I gradually felt more comfortable joining in. Still, being accessible to beginners was different from being low intensity. Both FAT BURN and VOLUME left me very out of breath.

How far is it from Seoul National University Entrance Station, and what was it like inside?
After walking about 2–3 minutes from Exit 5 of Seoul National University Entrance Station, I saw the entrance. The address is B1, Yeongin MC Building, 456 Bongcheon-ro, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

Although it is underground, I did not notice a musty smell during my visit, and the interior was kept comfortable.

There was an InBody machine, and protein drinks to have after exercising were also sold.

How did FAT BURN and VOLUME differ?
At the time of my visit, I could choose either FAT BURN or VOLUME at each class time. I was told FAT BURN is aimed at reducing body fat, while VOLUME is aimed at building muscle. Both were 60-minute formats combining barbells, weights, and cardio.
Classes were divided into the Gray Zone and Black Zone. I followed the sequence shown on the screen, and before starting, the coach explained the movements in detail.
How demanding was my first FAT BURN class?
On the first day, I took a FAT BURN class that included shoulder exercises. It involved repeating a set of exercises for a set amount of time.

It was my first time using the rowing machine, SkiErg, and BikeErg. I liked that the coach explained how to use each machine and the correct form. The BikeErg in particular felt so difficult that it barely seemed to move even when I pushed with my whole body.
After finishing the Gray Zone workout, I moved to the Black Zone for strength training. The coach paired people using similar weights, and my partner kept encouraging me. I even stopped my watch record halfway through because I thought it ended in the Gray Zone.

What was the second FAT BURN class and weight tracking like?
On the morning of the second day, I took a FAT BURN class that included chest exercises. Again, it started in the Gray Zone and finished in the Black Zone, with bench presses included in the program.

After class, I scanned a QR code and recorded the weights I had used that day. I was told that AI recommends weights based on these records and the repetitions in the next program. It was a feature that interested me because I often wonder what weight to start with for a new movement.

There was also a draw event in the morning class I joined. That day, I did 50 jumping squats as additional training.

Did VOLUME focus more on strength training?
On the evening of the second day, I returned to try VOLUME. The FAT BURN program I had done that morning was the same in the evening.

VOLUME focused a little more on strength training. There were many movements I did not know, so I was not confident using heavy weights, and the calorie record I checked was also lower. Still, I felt chest soreness after the workout for the first time in a while.
How did the weekend TOTAL class work?
At the time of my visit, weekend TOTAL classes were held without separating FAT BURN and VOLUME. Whether I started in the Gray Zone or Black Zone, the curriculum was the same.

The class I took that day focused on back and full-body exercises. I saw a rack used for T-bar rows and experienced equipment and movements I had not encountered at the gym I usually went to. Encouraging my partner and trying not to fall behind made me work harder than when I exercise alone.
On the final class day, I also took the mirror photo I had been putting off because I was sorry to leave. There were unfamiliar movements, but the atmosphere of working out together stayed with me.

Were there facilities to wash up after working out?
There were showers and changing rooms, along with Dyson hair dryers.

The shower area had partitions. Shampoo, body wash, and body lotion were provided, and it was kept clean, so I could wash up comfortably after exercising. I thought it would also be useful when going to work after a morning class.

There was lemon water in the refresh zone before entering the workout area. You wrote your name on a cup and used the same cup throughout the day.

What reservation information did I check before the trial?
At the time the original post was written on Sep 2, 2026, consultations and trials were stated to operate by reservation only. It was also explained that reservations could be made through Naver’s “1:1 personalized consultation reservation.”
At that time, a two-day free trial and a seven-day free event for registration with an acquaintance were listed. Since events change from time to time, it would be best to check with the center whether they apply before visiting.
When I go to a gym alone, I tend to wonder what to do first. Here, each class had set exercises and I could have the coach check my form, which was comfortable. However, there were many unfamiliar machines and movements, and the intensity was high, so having time to try it helped me see whether it suited me.
Is there material comparing it with other workouts?
Because I was curious about differences in workout styles, I also added material asking generative AI to compare F45, HYROX, and CrossFit. It is not a comparison based on personally experiencing all three.
