Yeoju Korean restaurant rice set after outlet shopping: Nadeulmok
In short
Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap is a Korean restaurant in Yeoju, Gyeonggi, less than 10 minutes by car from Yeoju Outlets. My husband and I enjoyed a two-person braised cutlassfish rice set with freshly cooked Yeoju rice, sweet-savory pork stir-fry, and plenty of side dishes. Verdict: a filling Korean meal after outlet shopping.

It had been a while since my husband and I went to Yeoju Outlets. We said we would just have a quick look around, but once we started walking, three hours flew by in no time. Maybe because we had walked around so enthusiastically, we were absolutely starving, so we headed to the nearby Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap for Korean food.

It took less than 10 minutes by car from Yeoju Outlets, and the rice tasted especially good because they use Daewangnim-brand Yeoju rice. If you are looking for Korean food near Yeoju Outlets, pay attention to this post =)

Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap location and parking
Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap is at 488-9 Sejong-ro, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do, and it is in a golden location that takes only 10 minutes by car from Yeoju Outlets. It is open from 11:00 to 20:30 on weekdays and 10:30 to 20:00 on weekends; break time is 15:30 to 17:00, and last order is at 19:30. It is closed every Wednesday.

Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap is a Korean restaurant near Yeoju Outlets with enough space for group visits, too.

The parking area is roomy as well, so it seems like you can visit comfortably without worrying about waiting!
Separate dining spaces for groups

I would not quite call it a private room, but it was definitely a separated space. Groups, or guests who reserve ahead, can enjoy a Yeoju rice set meal in a more private setting.

There was a restroom inside, too.
Ordering the braised cutlassfish rice set
There were four signature menu items in total, and some had to be ordered for at least two people depending on the dish. My husband and I ordered the braised cutlassfish rice set for two.

This restaurant had a certification plaque saying it uses Daewangnim-brand Yeoju rice, recognized for its quality and delicious flavor. There are so many Yeoju rice restaurants in Yeoju, so it made me expect this would be an even tastier one.
A full table of 10 side dishes and braised cutlassfish

As soon as we arrived, we ordered the braised cutlassfish rice set, and they quickly set out the basic side dishes. We had japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), fried eggplant, dressed acorn jelly, and salad lightly before the meal, and every single one was tasty.

Then the proper braised cutlassfish rice set arrived: 10 side dishes, doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), pork stir-fry, and braised cutlassfish, all generously laid across the table. The foundation of it all was the Yeoju rice, and enjoying 10 side dishes with the freshly cooked rice was simply perfect.

Sweet-savory pork stir-fry
At Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap, the pork stir-fry leaned a little more sweet than spicy. There was plenty of meat, with no unpleasant meatiness or fishiness at all, and putting a piece on the delicious Yeoju rice was pure heaven. The seasoning had soaked right through the meat, and it paired perfectly with the chewy Yeoju rice.

Thick, tender braised cutlassfish
Especially, the cutlassfish braised down in its sauce was thick and tender all the way to the flesh, making it a real rice thief. There was so much soft-cooked radish, too. Mixing the perfectly cooked radish and cutlassfish meat into the tasty Yeoju rice made a bowl of rice disappear in no time. There were several large, palm-sized pieces of braised cutlassfish, enough that my husband and I almost could not finish it. There was lots of fish meat, and it came away from the bones easily, too.

The doenjang jjigae was flavorful rather than bland, and because the rice itself at Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap was so good, it was truly delicious even just with the stew before making sungnyung (scorched-rice tea). I did not even realize doenjang jjigae was included, but its savory, deep broth made it really, really nice to take a clean spoonful of here and there ~~~
This was my first time trying Korean food near Yeoju Outlets, and I was so happy that we seemed to have come to such a delicious place, Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap =). Both the main dishes and the side dishes were savory and delicious overall—so much so that every dish naturally felt like a main. I recommend it to anyone looking mainly for a good Korean restaurant after visiting Yeoju Outlets!
