Garlic butter risotto, Sinramyeon spicy level, at Pasta Go in Magok

In short

Pasta Go Magok Branch is a pasta and risotto restaurant on the 2nd floor of Botanic Fruzio City near Magongnaru Station in Gangseo, Seoul. On a second visit, a couple picked two of the 25%-off solo sets, ordering garlic butter risotto at Sinramyeon spicy level and garlic butter pasta at mild-spicy, plus seasoned fries and a gorgonzola mini pizza. With a rich, thick cream sauce and a set menu that can be customized for just a few thousand won more, the value was outstanding.

This was already my second visit to Pasta Go Magok, a restaurant near Seoul Botanic Park known for its absurdly good-value pasta, risotto, pizza, and steak sets. I remembered it being selected as a Gangseo-gu Good Price Store, so I decided to go back!

What's the vibe like inside?

The interior of Pasta Go Magok, near Seoul Botanic Park, is decorated in a harmonious mix of white and wood tones, giving it a clean, café-like atmosphere! That's why so many nearby office workers come for lunch and dinner, and lots of couples on dates or people visiting Seoul Botanic Park, LG Arts Center, and COEX Magok stop by too, haha.

At the self-serve bar, you could grab pickles, water, tissues, and small plates yourself, and since the kitchen is open, you could watch the cooking process — it was managed very hygienically and cleanly! Because Pasta Go Magok gives a whopping 20% discount on takeout and delivery orders, there were plenty of customers doing both.

Menu and prices

True to its reputation as a pasta restaurant near Magongnaru, Pasta Go Magok was packed with Western dishes — pastas, risottos, pizzas, steaks. From solo sets and 2-person steak sets to Meat Meat Pasta (handmade meatballs), Aglio e Olio, Cheese Shower, Shrimp Toowoomba Pasta, Gnocchi Lover, Hot Rosé Chicken (spicy), Rosé Tteokbokki Pasta (spicy), Tomato Risotto, Special Black, Va Fongshu (oil/cream basil pesto), mini pizzas like gorgonzola, sweet potato, and pepperoni, amusement-park-flavor cream churros, fries, buttered morning bread, green salad, and even sous vide strip loin steak for just low ₩30,000s — the variety was huge.

My husband and I ordered two solo set menus! It was cool that spice level could be chosen from four basic tiers — mild, slightly spicy, Sinramyeon spicy, and extra spicy — with even more detailed custom requests possible. We were both drawn to garlic butter, so we each got pasta and risotto respectively, and the portions and flavor were both great — such a happy dinner >_<

The solo set was 25% off, and all you had to do was choose one pasta, one side, and one drink. I picked garlic butter risotto (shrimp), level 3 Sinramyeon spicy, and added seasoned fries for +₩750 — I honestly wondered if there was any other pasta restaurant near Magongnaru anywhere in Korea offering such a generous set at this price.

Pasta Go Magok, near Seoul Botanic Park, cooks the moment you order, so you get freshly made, hot risotto! It wasn't watery or light on cream sauce at all — it was thick and rich, exactly like risotto from a real Western restaurant, and it was so, so delicious 💛

Garlic butter risotto at Sinramyeon spicy level — okay for spice wimps?

If you like somewhat spicy food, I'd definitely recommend ordering level 3, Sinramyeon spicy! Before you even had time to feel the richness of the smooth garlic butter cream sauce, the heat kicked in, cutting through it so you never got tired of the flavor and could finish the whole bowl, haha. Even my spice-wimp husband praised this level of garlic butter cream risotto as delicious! The crispy, salty, clean fries were also great dipped generously in ketchup :)

Solo Set 2 — swapped for mini pizza

This is what my husband ordered! He swapped in the gorgonzola mini pizza for +₩1,500, chose level 2, slightly spicy, and got garlic butter pasta (shrimp). For just ₩1,500 more, you get an amazing-looking pizza added on — 💛

Chewy, well-cooked pasta noodles

You could choose between shrimp and bacon toppings, so there was plenty of choice, and ordering a set doesn't limit you — you can pay a bit extra to try whatever dish you want, which was really convenient! The pasta noodles were perfectly boiled, chewy without being mushy or hard — I was impressed, haha. It could have used a bit more heat than 'slightly spicy' for my taste, but that's just personal preference, so take it with a grain of salt!

Dinner at Pasta Go Magok, a pasta restaurant near Magongnaru with unbelievable value for both portion and taste! The thick, rich cream sauce was clean yet salty and savory to the max — I kept wanting to scrape the plate with my spoon !! 💛💛💛 If you're going on a date or meeting a group, I think it'd be great to order a variety and share :)

Gorgonzola mini pizza and buttered morning bread

The gorgonzola mini pizza comes with honey for dipping, and the combination of sweet honey and savory gorgonzola cheese was unbelievably good ㅠㅠㅠㅠ It's a familiar flavor, but at this price?? I kept marveling as I ate it, haha. It's a thin-crust pizza, but the dough isn't so thin it's crispy — my husband was so full he gave me a whopping two slices!

Buttered morning bread chosen as a side

You can also choose morning bread when ordering — one bite and a soft butter aroma fills your mouth, and dipping it into the pasta or risotto sauce makes it even more moist and soft, giving you a whole different flavor experience.

Other places to check out nearby

There's so much to see and do nearby — Seoul Botanic Park, LG Arts Center, COEX Magok, One Grove, and Traders Wholesale Club Magok — so it'd be great to visit Pasta Go Magok, this great-value pasta restaurant near Magongnaru, before or after checking those places out :D
