Guro Korean restaurant: warm bossam and kalguksu at Sindorim Sambaekga

In short

Sindorim Sambaekga is a Korean restaurant in Guro, Seoul, serving bossam, jokbal, and kalguksu. My husband and I had the large Sambaek bossam and kalguksu set for 51,000 won, and loved the burner-kept pork and deep, clean broth. Verdict: a satisfying dinner with useful parking and reservation perks.

Sindorim Sambaekga bossam and kalguksu meal

When you want bossam and kalguksu together in Sindorim

My husband and I went to Sindorim Sambaekga for dinner! We were looking for a good Sindorim spot with parking and chose it because we could have both jokbal and bossam. I already love bossam, and since it is a protein-rich meat dish, it seemed like it would make a hearty dinner—so we went without hesitation! After trying it as a couple, I thought the menu was nicely put together and more generous than expected. If you are looking for good jokbal or bossam in Sindorim, keep this one in mind 😊

Sindorim Sambaekga location and parking

Sindorim Sambaekga is in the Sindorim Prugio Complex 1 shopping arcade near Sindorim Station. You can use the building's basement parking lot for up to two hours free, which was convenient. Best of all, there seemed to be plenty of parking spaces, so visiting by car did not feel burdensome.

It is in Unit 118 on the first floor, directly across from Mega Coffee, so it is not difficult to find. Honestly, it was my first time there and I wandered around a little at first, but once you find Mega Coffee, it is right across the way—so even first-time visitors should find it easily ✨

Bossam, jokbal, and kalguksu menu

A place where you can enjoy bossam, jokbal, and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) all in one spot! Plenty of places sell both jokbal and bossam, but it is not common to find one where you can have kalguksu too. I liked that Sindorim Sambaekga lets you enjoy all three at once 🤍

Bossam and jokbal reservation perks

Sindorim Sambaekga is not huge inside, but if you plan to order jokbal or bossam, you can reserve through Naver, so I recommend booking ahead. Reservations are not available for meal-menu orders. You can book up to one hour before your visit, which is convenient even for a same-day visit. Best of all, reservations come with free fresh-fruit handmade tray makguksu and a tasting portion of naengchae jokbal (cold dressed pork hock). If you are going for jokbal or bossam, I recommend claiming the reservation perks too ✨

Ordering was easy with the kiosk at the table. They also accept Zero Pay, so that may be useful to know when paying.

The self-serve barley rice station for kalguksu orders

This is the self-serve barley rice station available when you order kalguksu! They say that mixing the barley rice with gochujang (Korean red chili paste) and sesame oil lets you enjoy the full Sambaek Kalguksu spread properly. I was too full to try it, but the complimentary barley rice is such a nice touch.. 🤍

The fresh geotjeori kimchi was memorable too. They make it fresh every day with ripe persimmon, and perhaps because of that, it had a subtly sweet note that worked well with its crisp texture. Paired with the kalguksu or bossam, it complemented the mild flavors so well that I kept reaching for it.

There was also a separate lunch dining event: if you write a Naver receipt review, they give you one bottle of soft drink on the house, so anyone interested may want to join in.

Large Sambaek bossam and kalguksu set

Ta-da! The side dishes were set out first: seasoned chives, dried shredded radish, persimmon geotjeori, naengchae jokbal, wrap vegetables, and assorted sauces. The geotjeori was delicious, of course, but the seasoned chives were tasty too!

Large Sambaek bossam + kalguksu set, ₩51,000. We ordered this set so we could enjoy Sambaek bossam with Sambaekga's handmade kalguksu, choosing the large bossam. Rather than serving it straight on a plate like many places do, they brought it out on a gas burner. That meant we could eat slowly and still enjoy every last piece warm, which I loved.

They say the bossam is made with patented Korean yakgam pork raised on persimmons from Sangju, along with pork belly blended with mulberry-leaf powder. After trying it, the meat was very tender, with none of that characteristic pork smell. Even the lean portions were moist rather than dry, and paired with seasoned chives or fresh geotjeori kimchi, it was not greasy at all—the combination was really good.

They also served a garlic sauce, and dipping the meat in it gave it that classic garlic-bossam feel. It was lightly sweet with a gentle garlic aroma, so it tasted different from eating the pork plain. Personally, I enjoyed it so much.. 🤍

Sindorim Sambaekga's rich yet clean handmade kalguksu

And then there was Sindorim Sambaekga's handmade kalguksu! The broth is said to be carefully simmered with 12 high-quality ingredients, and it really was rich while still tasting clean. They use 100% Korean fresh noodles, which had a springy, chewy texture. As the weather starts getting cooler like this, I keep craving hot soupy dishes; being able to have kalguksu alongside bossam made for such a satisfying meal. Kalguksu and fresh geotjeori kimchi are a match made in heaven.
