Guro Korean restaurant for warm bossam: The Jokbal
In short
The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch (더족발 신도림본점) is a jokbal and bossam restaurant in Guro, Seoul. We ordered medium bossam for 42,000 won, small makguksu for 9,000 won, and two bowls of rice at weekday lunch. Verdict: a filling, satisfying spread for two.

How about visiting The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch (더족발 신도림본점) when you’re craving jokbal (braised pork hock) or bossam (boiled pork wraps) in Sindorim? 🐷✨ It’s on the first floor of the Sindorim 3rd Prugio Apartment shopping arcade, across from Ramada Seoul Sindorim Hotel, so it wasn’t hard to find!

At weekday lunch, I noticed lots of office workers stopping by for a meal. I imagine people also come by for a drink after work or for a Sindorim company dinner in the evening 🔥

We arrived right in the middle of lunch, wondering, “Will there even be a table..?” But there were still plenty of seats, so we got one haha. I didn’t manage to photograph it, but there are more seats inside too. You can’t tell whether it’s full just from the front, so make sure to look farther in!

Sindorim lunch dishes and the three-item combo
The Jokbal, a popular restaurant near Sindorim Station, has a wide range of dishes, from jokbal and bossam to charcoal-grilled spicy jokbal and chilled jokbal salad.

They also have well-rounded lunch options including jeyuk ssambap (spicy pork rice wraps), a bossam set meal, a spicy beef gukbap set meal, and a soft tofu bossam set meal, so it seemed like a perfect spot when you’re looking for lunch in Sindorim. And you may be curious about the three-item combo at The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch, where you choose three dishes. 👀

You can choose three from bossam, jokbal, chilled jokbal salad, charcoal-grilled spicy jokbal, and soy garlic jokbal—such a happily difficult choice. I usually go for a combo with lots of different dishes, but the family member I came with loves classic bossam so much haha, so we ended up ordering the medium bossam for ₩42,000 🐷💗
Medium bossam ₩42,000 Small makguksu ₩9,000 2 bowls of rice ₩2,000

A warm bossam spread
Ta-da, our food arrived! Such a generous spread, right? I was absolutely starving at this point..

The banchan (Korean side dishes) included bean sprout soup, assorted kimchi side dishes, lettuce for wraps, and garlic.

Every single kimchi side dish was so good too—deeply savory with a nice little kick~

As soon as the bossam came out, they put it over a burner, and I loved that it stayed warm the whole time we ate 🔥

The bossam was clean-tasting with barely any pork smell. The fatty parts chewed softly and felt like they melted in your mouth, while the lean meat was moist, so I think it’s a great choice for anyone who hates dry meat. Even when you’re full, you keep eating—it’s ma~gic 🤤

At first, honestly, the portion looked a little small, so I thought, “Should we have ordered the large..?” But once we ate it with rice, we both felt like we were about to burst haha

Makguksu with bossam
The makguksu (buckwheat noodles) was sweet and tangy too, seasoned exactly the way I like it.

The noodles were wonderfully chewy, and when you wrap them up with bossam, you know? That’s instant heaven.

And once you put a piece of bossam on napa cabbage with chives and garlic, it’s game over 🥹❤️ You simply can’t resist raw garlic with bossam 🧄 The bossam alone was plenty satisfying, but next time I visit The Jokbal, this Sindorim favorite, I’m definitely trying the jokbal haha.
