Guro, Seoul late-night bar with a DJ roulette: Eulji Pocha

After having a first meal in Gudi, don't you quietly start wondering where to go for round two? I was looking for somewhere to have a casual drink with friends and ended up at Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch~ It had a little more fun than a typical pocha (casual Korean drinking spot)! Along with a wide range of anju (food to eat with drinks), there were coin-operated games and snacks, events everyone could join, and even a DJ booth, so there was more to do than I expected! Since it stays open late, I thought it would be great to recommend to anyone looking for a Gudi bar for an after-work company dinner or a fun drink with friends.

Finding Eulji Pocha from Guro Digital Complex Station

It's fairly close to Exit 2 of Guro Digital Complex Station. Come out of Exit 2 and head toward Kkakkal Street, and it isn't hard to find! Guro Digital Complex has lots of office workers, so this street seems popular for after-work company dinners and get-togethers—and Eulji Pocha is right in that alley!

Hours are 17:00–06:00 the next day every day, with last orders at 05:00 the next day.

Retro pocha vibes and a DJ booth

True to its name, Eulji Pocha combined the laid-back atmosphere unique to a pocha with retro flair! It felt perfect for having a relaxed drink with friends without anything too formal~ The space was roomier than expected too, so it looked suitable for everything from small gatherings to office dinners!

And the thing that immediately caught my eye when we sat down was the DJ booth. They take song requests and play them, which was such a fun feature you don't often see at regular bars! As a DJ pocha where you can request your favorite songs while drinking, it seemed like it would be fun to spend time chatting about music with friends too 🤩

From filling anju to simple desserts

Looking through Eulji Pocha's menu, chicken feet stood out as a signature item~ There were also filling dishes to enjoy with drinks, such as Cheongju pork jjageuli (spicy pork stew) and beef tendon odeng-tang (fish cake soup). On the other hand, there were more unusual choices than standard pocha fare, including spicy Cheongyang chili seafood jjol-jjajang (chewy noodles in black bean sauce) and stir-fried spicy beef tendon. From familiar dishes like chicken and yuringi (crispy chicken with tangy sauce) to yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), seasoned cockles, and all kinds of stir-fries, there were plenty of options!

There were also lots of simple anju and dessert options for people dropping in for a light drink like us—rolled omelet, hangover ramen, and French toast—so choosing from the menu was fun too~!

We kept it simple too, ordering cream udon with beer and highballs! The cream udon had a smooth cream-sauce base, but there was a subtle spicy kick, so it didn't get cloying and I kept reaching for more.

There were even two draft beer choices, Hanmac and Cass, so you could choose according to your taste!

An event pocha powered by coins

What was just as fun as the food at Eulji Pocha was its range of events and coin system! Inside, there was a space like an Eulji stationery shop where you could use coins to enjoy all sorts of things! You can receive coins based on the price of your anju, as well as through alcohol orders, Instagram Stories, review events, and more!

You could exchange coins for snacks such as cotton candy, dalgona (Korean honeycomb candy), and ice cream; take a four-cut photo; or try the claw machine! Since we came for round two and were already full, we used our coins for a discount instead of snacks. Each coin is worth ₩500, so it was practically like getting a beer for free!

They were also running a no-lose roulette event! You simply scan the QR code displayed on the tablet at your table, enter your phone number, and join. Spin the roulette to receive all kinds of perks, from anju such as two-for-one yukhoe, chicken feet, and semi-dried squid to drinks, soju, beer, and ice cream! Since this is a service you can definitely receive, I think it's worth joining if you visit.

There were lots of other fun touches too, like games using your table number and gifts from playing rock-paper-scissors with the DJ! It wasn't just an ordinary Gudi bar—it really had the feeling of an event pocha packed with variety!
