An American-Style Pizza Pub Near Isu Station

Raymond Pizza, a four-minute walk from Exit 9 of Isu Station, is a popular pizza-and-beer spot known for handmade pizza and craft beer. Exit 9 is under construction through the end of 2026, so I visited via Exit 8.

After walking a little from Exit 8 of Isu Station, I found Raymond Pizza.

The red sign made it feel like a slice shop on a corner of Manhattan, with New Yorkers hurrying by. The vintage building in white and red, plus the simple red logo sign above it, made me feel as though I had arrived at an American beer pub.

Right from the entrance, signs and an electronic display said they sell only award-winning draft craft beers from a world championship, so I immediately thought the beers would be really good with pizza.

Before going inside, I spotted another sign for a lunch set: one jumbo pizza slice, fries, and a drink. At ₩9,900 to ₩11,900, it looked like an easy, no-pressure meal. If you are craving pizza at lunch, it seems worth stopping by.

Raymond sells world-champion craft beer, and it appeared that they can pack it up as canned beer. If you are still craving more after drinking, or want more at home, taking away draft beer seemed like a good idea.

Ordering the Raymond Set and Beer Sampler

The menu had such a wide range of dishes and sets that choosing took us a while. My eternal indecisiveness....

After much deliberation, our group ordered the signature Raymond Set (for two to four people) and the five-beer sampler. The Raymond Set comes as one generous platter with one slice of each pizza on the menu—four slices, or half of a 20-inch pizza—plus sausage, boneless fried chicken, truffle fries, and assorted sauces. I thought three people could eat until they burst! We also chose the sampler because we wanted to wet our whistles with different beers alongside our pizza-and-beer, and chicken-and-beer feast.

The Self-Service Corner and Vintage Interior

While waiting after ordering, I looked around the self-service corner. Plates, hot sauce, napkins, and more were ready there, with appetizing pizzas displayed beside it.

There were lots of guests around the restaurant enjoying pizza and beer. Nice music played, and the vintage interior made it seem like a good place for a date, group gathering, or company dinner. There was also a restroom inside, though it is unisex.

Five Beers and a Generous American-Style Pizza Platter

At last, our Raymond Set and five-beer sampler arrived.

The five beers were, in order, Vienna lager, Belgian wheat beer, India pale ale, blueberry sour ale, and chocolate peanut butter stout. If you have not settled on a favorite, I recommend drinking them from left to right. I felt their distinctive bitterness became stronger as I went along.

Personally, the Vienna lager and Belgian wheat beer were exactly my taste. The others said the pale ale and blueberry sour ale were delicious, among others, and I was reminded once again that everyone has such different beer preferences. If you want an even more enjoyable, delicious pizza-and-beer outing with friends, I recommend checking what beers your group likes before you go.

The Raymond Set arrived plated on a round metal tray, and the spread looked incredibly generous.

The chicken, fried golden and crisp outside yet tender inside; grilled sausage; crisp fries without an overpowering flavor; and authentic American-style pizza loaded with toppings were more than enough to stir up my appetite. When my mouth felt greasy, the cold beer washed away the oiliness and gave such a refreshing lift—I loved it.

We dipped everything into six different sauces to suit our tastes: ketchup, honey mustard, honey butter sauce, seasoned fried-chicken sauce, and two slightly spicy sauces whose names I cannot remember. It was really delicious.

The group’s overall verdict was that there was nothing bad in the spread, so we devoured it like crazy. There was so much food that we enjoyed pizza and beer without needing to go anywhere else for a second round, and we were so happily full. Of course, I was very satisfied too, and I would like to visit again if I get the chance.
