One weekend afternoon, craving a warm, neatly prepared home-style meal, I visited the well-known Bucheon Korean restaurant Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang (김명주뜰안채밥상), Jungdong Branch with my husband.
It is only about a 3–4 minute walk from Sinjung-dong Station, so it was wonderfully easy to reach. From the moment we stepped inside, the comfortable, upscale atmosphere made a great first impression.

I’ll take you through the restaurant’s standout features, the menu, and my honest thoughts after trying it.
Freshly milled yellow-rice pressure-cooker rice and daily side dishes
The most distinctive thing about Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang, Jungdong Branch is, quite simply, the rice.

A table is complete only when the rice is delicious.
Following that philosophy, they say the restaurant mills yellow rice on-site every morning.

Because the more nutritious, flavorful yellow rice is cooked to order in a pressure cooker, I loved the glossy grains and satisfyingly chewy texture.
The 12 side dishes, carefully made each morning with seasonal ingredients, and the savory cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) were mild and wholesome rather than overpowering, so I just kept going back for more.
All of these side dishes and the cheonggukjang, apart from the main dish, come with unlimited refills. It is an all-you-can-refill Korean set-meal restaurant where you can enjoy a healthy meal without feeling self-conscious about asking for more.

With just a freshly cooked pot of yellow-rice rice and a bowl of hearty cheonggukjang, this Bucheon Korean restaurant felt every bit as abundant as an unlimited-refill buffet.

The two-person Tteuranchae table set with charcoal-grilled pork
I visited on a weekend afternoon and ordered the restaurant’s signature basic setting, the two-person Tteuranchae table set, plus charcoal-grilled pork as an à la carte dish.

For reference, you order the Tteuranchae table set according to the number of people, and just one main menu item per table is enough~^^
The à la carte menu had so many tempting dishes, including gulbi (dried salted croaker) grilled after drying in the Bupsanpo sea breeze, soy-marinated crab made with Jeju yellow crab, smoky charcoal-grilled pork, and spicy-tangy seasoned cockles. Still, I was in the mood for charcoal pork, with its lovely sweet-salty balance and plenty of protein. When the table was set shortly afterward, it was quite a sight.

The charcoal-grilled pork was bound to be delicious: Korean pork neck and foreleg meat were blended well, marinated in a house-made sauce, and given a smoky flavor over real charcoal.

Putting a thick piece of charcoal-grilled pork on a spoonful of freshly milled yellow-rice pressure-cooker rice filled my mouth with blissful savoriness.
For anyone looking for Korean food around Sinjung-dong, this is a combination that simply cannot miss.

The clean yet deep flavors really let me experience the essence of Sinjung-dong Korean food, and I would happily recommend it if someone asked for a local suggestion.
A fitting space for Bucheon gatherings and family meals
Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang, Jungdong Branch offers dishes that are not overly seasoned and sit comfortably on the stomach, making it an especially lovely Korean restaurant to bring your parents to.
When I visited, I saw so many tables enjoying family meals in Bucheon. With side dishes that appeal to all ages and such a neatly arranged spread, it really felt like an ideal setting for a relaxed family meal.
There is an unlimited-refill self-service bar of side dishes that can please everyone from children to older diners, so I strongly recommend it as a successful Bucheon family-dining spot. The restaurant is also spacious and its layout is organized, which made it easy to focus on conversation even during a busy time like weekend lunch.
Its clean, formal atmosphere also makes it a perfectly good venue for a weekend gathering in Bucheon. It was a fitting space to spend meaningful time with friends, with just the right mood for lingering over conversation in comfort.

With neatly prepared food, generous portions, and attentive service, I think it is a great recommendation for anyone planning a Korean set-meal gathering in Bucheon. It is actually popular for alumni reunions and smaller get-togethers alike, so do stop by if you want a gathering that feels formal without being burdensome.
