Yeouido Park Japanese restaurant, no-wait 1pm omurice: Hurato Sikdang

In short

Hurato Sikdang Yeouido is a gyukatsu (Japanese beef cutlet) restaurant on the 3rd floor of Yeouido Finance Tower, a 3-minute walk from Yeouido Station Exit 3 in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. On a weekday visit at 1pm, past the lunch rush, there was no wait at all, and the gyukatsu (19,500 won) and soft egg omurice (14,500 won) were shared between two people. The seasoning at Hurato Sikdang Yeouido stays mild, so even a fried-and-meat-heavy lunch sits easy — a calm, reliable choice near Yeouido Park.

Hurato Sikdang Yeouido: solo or weekday lunch near Yeouido Station

I went to Hurato Sikdang Yeouido, a gyukatsu (Japanese beef cutlet) specialty restaurant near Yeouido Park that's great for Yeouido office workers' lunch or a bite after a walk in the park when you're craving a clean, well-put-together Japanese set meal. I visited around 1pm on a weekday, and since it was past the lunch peak, I ate in a relaxed, comfortable way.

Hurato Sikdang Yeouido is on the 3rd floor of Finance Tower, with a Hollys Coffee on the 1st floor. Inside, there's a good mix of solo-friendly bar seats plus 2-top and 4-top tables, which made it look like a nice spot for Yeouido office workers eating alone or for small lunch gatherings.

The story behind the Hurato Sikdang brand

Signage telling the Hurato Sikdang brand story

Hurato Sikdang has branches in several other locations besides this Yeouido one. The brand apparently started when three young founders tried to recreate the cozy feel and flavors of the Japanese restaurants they experienced on a trip to Tokyo, opening their first location near Gyeongbokgung in Seoul. It's the gyukatsu spot Lee Young-ji shouted out, and one CORTIS reportedly visited often back in their trainee days.

What we ordered: gyukatsu and soft egg omurice prices and taste

Relaxed table seating on a weekday at 1pm

Visiting on a weekday at 1pm, there was no wait, but customers kept coming in even while we were ordering and eating. We ordered the two signature menu items, gyukatsu and soft egg omurice, and split them.

The gyukatsu (₩19,500) came out crispy on the outside and rare inside, so we grilled it ourselves on the personal grill to our preferred doneness. I've had gyukatsu at many places, but the meat here was really tender with the juices still intact, so you could really taste the meat itself.

The soft egg omurice (₩14,500) is a dish where you gently slice open the fluffy, wobbly soft egg with a knife and top it with the house sauce. It melts smoothly in your mouth — good good.

Overall the seasoning wasn't heavy or overly strong, so even though the meal was fried-food-and-meat heavy, my stomach felt comfortable and not weighed down — I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for good Japanese food near Yeouido Station.

What time can you eat with no wait?

If you visit after 1pm on a weekday, past the office workers' lunch peak (11:30–12:30), you can eat without a wait and take your time.

On weekends or during peak times, use Naver Reservation to avoid waiting. If you park in the building's basement, you'll need to transfer to the ground-floor-only elevator on 1F.
