Yeouido gyukatsu dinner reservation with no wait: Hurato Sikdang

Today I'm bringing you a review of Hurato Sikdang, the Yeouido gyukatsu spot I stop by often during lunch! It's my go-to place in Yeouido whenever I'm craving gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet) haha.

Where is Hurato Sikdang Yeouido, and what are its hours?

Hurato Sikdang Yeouido is on the 3rd floor of Yeouido Finance Tower, 32 Gukjegeumyung-ro 2-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. On weekdays it runs 11:00–15:00 and 17:00–21:30, with a break time from 15:00–17:00, last order at 20:30, and on weekends it opens from 11:30.

Hurato Sikdang is close to Yeouido Station too, so it's a solid spot for both office lunches and dinner meetups! It's about a 5-minute walk from Yeouido Station haha.

Can a dinner reservation skip the Hurato Sikdang lunch wait?

So many office workers come to Hurato Sikdang Yeouido during lunch that I remember always waiting whenever I visited then! This time I booked ahead for dinner instead of lunch, and it was great being able to eat right away without waiting!

Even at dinner it was busy enough that I probably would have waited without a reservation. You can book via Naver Reservation after lunch hours, so keep that in mind haha.

Bit of trivia, but I've been coming to Hurato Sikdang for gyukatsu since my college days haha. It's a Japanese-style gyukatsu specialty restaurant, and I love that you get to grill it yourself over a personal tabletop brazier! Grilling my own gyukatsu really gives off total Japan vibes lol.

The place has a clean, tidy vibe and every table has its own brazier, so everyone can grill their cutlet to their own preferred doneness! It's usually packed at lunch, but booking ahead for dinner made things so much easier haha.

Hurato Sikdang menu and prices

The signature dish here is definitely the gyukatsu at ₩19,500! Besides gyukatsu, the menu is pretty varied too — soft-boiled omurice, steki (steak) set, steki deopbap, Yamagata minced pork curry, beef belly deopbap, and more!

How do you grill gyukatsu on your own tabletop brazier?

The gyukatsu comes out rare in the center at first, so you place it piece by piece on the personal tabletop brazier and grill it yourself.

Laying it on piece by piece and hearing it sizzle~~~ being able to cook it to exactly the doneness you like is what makes gyukatsu so fun haha. Are we sure we're not in Japan right now (?). The outside of the gyukatsu is crispy-fried and the meat inside is tender, so it's tasty even plain, but grilling it lightly on the brazier really brings out the nutty flavor even more!

Dipping it in the sauce or wasabi that comes alongside changes the flavor each time, so I never got tired of it over the whole plate! It's already good with just salt and wasabi, but the house special sauce was genuinely delicious too. Eating it with rice makes it filling enough to be the perfect lunch for Yeouido office workers haha.

Next up, steki deopbap (steak rice bowl)!! This one's super generous too haha — it was loaded with meat.

The sauce soaked into the rice so nicely, sweet and delicious!! For people who aren't into gyukatsu, there are plenty of rice bowl options like this that make the place worth visiting too haha.

Lastly, the side karaage!! It looked tasty so we ordered it, but honestly the gyukatsu and deopbap portions were already so generous that you'd be full even without a side. The karaage was solidly good too haha — by the end I was seriously stuffed.

Is Hurato Sikdang worth it for gyukatsu near Yeouido Park?

If you're in Yeouido and like Japanese food or gyukatsu, this place is worth a visit at least once! By the way, I heard Lee Young-ji shouted it out, and CORTIS reportedly visited this gyukatsu spot every weekend during their trainee days lol.
