Medium assorted sashimi packed after a call 30 minutes ahead
I had bought this and that at Sokcho Market and planned to take it all back to our lodging, so I called about 30 minutes ahead. They had it ready for immediate pickup. They also included an ice pack, which kept the sashimi fresh.

Medium assorted sashimi (₩69,000). It came with fresh assorted sashimi and various vegetables: shrimp, aged kimchi, lettuce, perilla leaves, peppers, garlic, pickled scallions, pickled ginger, chojang (sweet-tangy red pepper dipping sauce), soy sauce, and wasabi.
The two of us ordered the medium platter so we could eat generously, and it felt like more than I expected. Bongpo Hoega said it does not use distributed fish; it brings fish in directly from the auction every morning.
Maybe that is why, but the sashimi was fresh and wonderfully chewy. The texture was completely my style, so I absolutely devoured it. A light dip in soy sauce or chojang made it feel even more like a trip.

A lodging dinner spread with aged kimchi
There was lettuce and perilla leaf too, so we made wraps, and it was so delicious with the aged kimchi. Taking a big bite of flounder fin in one go gave me that delightfully firm texture all over my mouth.

My husband and I enjoyed the sashimi with drinks. Our child is still too young to eat sashimi, but after setting out other foods we had bought at Sokcho Market, we all enjoyed a delicious dinner.
After the sashimi, we cooked up a spicy bowl of ramyeon to clear our palates—such a perfect finish to the trip! ✨
If you are looking for a sashimi restaurant in Goseong, Gangwon, stop by Bongpo Hoega. I liked the fish sourced directly through daily fish-market auctions, its fresh and springy texture, the spacious interior, and the friendly owner.
