Gangneung café for classic drip coffee: Coffee Dripper

While looking for places to visit in Gangneung, I stopped by Coffee Dripper (커피드립퍼), which has been operating near Gyeongpo Beach for more than 10 years since 2012. I was drawn to the fact that it makes classic coffee, and the newly renovated space and menu from May 2026 were so appealing that I had to visit.

They also sell all kinds of baked goods. I visited after lunch, so I did not order dessert, but I saw blog reviews saying that the croffin—a croissant baked like a muffin—is especially delicious... I was sad not to try it myself ㅠㅠ If you have a separate dessert stomach, give it a go!!

The rule is one menu item per person, and outside food is not allowed. Along with the signature coffees, there are plenty of non-coffee options such as ice cream, matcha latte, and Sunset Lemonade, so it is also nice to visit with children. There were actually lots of tourists with children, as well as couples on dates.

From Dripper Latte to Chodang sundubu pudding

• The signature Dripper Latte (white almond mocha), a refreshed version of a signature drink from 10 years ago
• Chocolate Cone Latte (HOT), served in a cone that becomes the cup
• Chodang sundubu pudding made with Gangneung Chodang soft tofu
• Dripper Blend (HOT), brewed with beans roasted in-house

I ordered all four items.

First, the signature Dripper Latte tasted nutty and sweet from the very first sip—delicious.

A hot Chocolate Cone Latte where you eat the cone too

First of all, it was so fascinating that the cone becomes the coffee cup. The Chocolate Cone Latte is available only hot; as the hot coffee melts the cone, the chocolate inside melts too. With each sip, the slight bitterness and sweet finish were really lovely. It was fun too—the idea that you can eat the cone as dessert at the end is so clever.

Chodang sundubu pudding with yuja syrup

Since I was in Gangneung, I could not just pass by a soft-tofu item at a café, so I ordered the Chodang sundubu pudding. The springy texture and tart raspberry flavor might be divisive, but!!!? When I ate it with the yuja syrup provided, everything came together so well that I finished it in no time.

Lastly, the Dripper coffee was richly aromatic and clean, so I recommend stopping by when you want an unhurried cup of coffee in Gangneung.

A space where wood tones meet plant-filled décor

The interior combines a wood-tone base with plant-filled décor for a cozy atmosphere. Personally, I prefer cafés with this toned-down mood over ones that are simply bright. Somehow, coffee tastes even better in a calm setting.

On one side, they sell their own roasted beans and merchandise.

The restroom is inside, and it was clean, with no inconvenience in using it.

There is also a separate outdoor space where you can drink coffee in the sunshine. It would be lovely to enjoy the leisure of a cup of coffee under an autumn sky.

With dedicated parking for about 13 cars, you can visit without worrying about parking. Drop by on a day when you want a feel-good cup of coffee during your Gangneung trip. It is close to Gangneung Station, located within Gangneung Chodang Sundubu Village, and a 10-minute walk from Gangmun Beach, so Coffee Dripper fits naturally into a travel itinerary. I recommend Coffee Dripper as a Gangneung café with a lovely date-night atmosphere ☕️
