Dinner after a Yeonan Pier cruise at 24-Hour Sopuri Yangpyeong Haejangguk

I went to Yeonan Pier in Incheon over the weekend to ride the cruise ship. By the time we finished a loop on the boat, it was exactly dinner time. Since we'd already come all the way to Yeonan Pier, I thought about getting sashimi, but that day I was craving hot soup more.

While looking for a place to eat nearby, we walked into 24-Hour Sopuri Yangpyeong Haejangguk, Yeonan Pier General Fish Market Branch! It's open 24 hours, so it's worth knowing about if you're ever looking for somewhere to eat late at night around Yeonan Pier.

Since we'd come to ride the cruise, we left the car at the public parking lot by the cruise terminal and walked to the restaurant. Around Yeanan Pier there tends to be a lot of traffic on weekends and in the evening, so if you're already parked at the public lot, it's much easier to just walk instead of moving the car again.

If you're planning to look around the cruise terminal or the general fish market too, this is a convenient way to cover it all in one route!

Inside Sopuri: the room and tablet ordering

Once inside, the place had an overall bright, clean feel. There was the usual busy energy you'd expect from a hangover soup restaurant, but the tables weren't cramped and we could eat comfortably.

Each table also had a tablet order screen installed. No need to call a staff member over — you can take your time looking at the menu and prices and order right from your seat, which was convenient.

Yangpyeong beef innards soup, 12,000 won — how generous is it?

Yangpyeong beef innards soup, ₩12,000, large ₩14,000. My husband ordered this one. It's a dish with beef innards and tripe, and when I scooped a spoonful, there was quite a generous amount of ingredients in it.

The innards were savory with a springy texture, and the tripe wasn't tough — it was chewy in a satisfying way! The broth was on the rich side too, good for mixing with rice. My husband generally likes innards dishes, and he finished the whole bowl looking pretty satisfied. If you like innards or tripe, this beef innards soup might be worth ordering over the regular hangover soup.

Bean sprout haejangguk, 9,000 won — a spicy, clean broth

Bean sprout hangover soup, ₩9,000. I had this one. Given how expensive eating out has gotten, ₩9,000 is a decent price, and the portion was bigger than I expected.

There were plenty of bean sprouts, so every bite had a nice crunch, and the broth was spicy in a clean, refreshing way! It wasn't overly spicy or heavy-handed, so I kept going back for spoonful after spoonful.

After walking around in the breeze on the cruise, I was feeling a little chilled, but eating the hot bean sprout soup warmed me right up from the inside. The price wasn't a burden but the portion wasn't small either, so it felt like a proper meal rather than just something quick.

Free extra rice and seonji at the self-serve bar

One thing I really liked about 24-Hour Sopuri Yangpyeong Haejangguk, Yeonan Pier General Fish Market Branch was the self-serve bar. You can grab extra rice, and there was sundae (blood sausage/blood) set aside separately too, so you could take as much as you wanted.

You know how sometimes you have broth left but run a little short on rice? Being able to just grab more rice without placing another order was great. And if you're someone who likes sundae, being able to add more of that too is a nice bonus. The base portions were already generous, but being able to add rice and sundae on top meant we left completely full.

We also had kimchi and cubed radish kimchi (kkakdugi), which paired nicely with the soup. Between a sip of broth and a bite of kkakdugi, I somehow ended up finishing almost the entire bowl before I knew it, haha.

A free bottle of water on your way out

After finishing the meal, I noticed there was bottled water set up by the entrance. You can grab one bottle per person, so we each took a cold bottle on our way out.

It might seem like a small thing, but being able to grab a cold bottle of water on your way out after eating is quietly nice. Little touches like this made the whole experience a bit more comfortable.

Is Sopuri in Jemulpo worth a stop?

Since it's open 24 hours, it was easy to eat there without worry late at night or in the early hours of dawn. It was a solid Yeonan Pier restaurant to stop by whenever you're craving hot soup before or after a cruise or boat fishing.

The price wasn't a burden and the portions were generous, and being able to add extra rice and sundae made for a hearty meal. I really enjoyed the bean sprout hangover soup, so I think I'll be thinking about it again next time I'm at Yeonan Pier.
