Bride-to-be midface and asymmetry facial in Gwanggyo, Suwon: Esthetia

Planning a wedding made me start noticing things I never used to care about. Especially in photos — the asymmetry between the left and right sides of my face, my midface length, and my overall facial contour started bothering me, so I decided to get a facial treatment.

This time, through a great opportunity, I got a facial contouring treatment at 'Esthetia Gwanggyo 1st Branch' in Suwon!

Esthetia Gwanggyo 1st Branch is located at Room 306, Edu Plaza, 43 Docheong-ro 89beon-gil, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi, South Korea. You can get there from Exit 2 of Gwanggyo Jungang Station, and if you're driving, you can use Edu Plaza's own parking lot.

Esthetia Gwanggyo 1st Branch is on the 3rd floor of the Edu Plaza building. I came by car and the underground parking lot was spacious, so it was really easy to visit haha (make sure to ask the shop to register your car after you arrive!!)

The interior had a bright, clean mint-tone atmosphere. I visited with a reservation, so I was taken straight to the consultation room with no waiting.

The consultation before treatment starts with a questionnaire

In the consultation space before the treatment, I filled out a simple questionnaire. It was nice being able to comfortably write down what I'd been worried about.

These were the three things I was concerned about, and I went in thinking "I'll just get an overall facial treatment," but the consultation looked at my face in much more detail than I expected. They went through each of my concerns one by one and explained in detail which areas to work on to make the overall face look more balanced.

Facial asymmetry: what the consultation found

First, about the left-right asymmetry I'd been worried about, they said it could be related to everyday habits. For example, habits like resting your chin on your hand or crossing your legs — small repeated postures you don't even notice — can affect left-right balance. If these habits go back a long time, like since school days, rather than being recent, the asymmetry may have become deeply set into the face.

Midface length and how Esthetia approaches it

My midface is on the longer side, which stressed me out because it made me look older and left more blank space on my face. During the consultation, after looking at my whole face, they said that adding volume to the midface and cleaning up the jawline could improve the overall facial balance.

In the end, rather than simply tidying up the facial lines, I decided to go with facial contouring, which addresses asymmetry, midface volume, and overall three-dimensional facial definition together. Instead of just listening to what I wanted and jumping straight into the treatment, they looked directly at my face and explained which areas would benefit — so I was satisfied starting from the consultation itself.

The treatment room was clean overall, and I was able to get a private treatment in a quiet atmosphere. I changed into the provided gown and filled out a pre-treatment checklist before starting.

Step by step through the facial contouring treatment

Esthetia Gwanggyo 1st Branch's facial contouring treatment proceeded in the following order.

Hydrating cleanse (3 steps) → deep cleanse → first pack → decolletage & hand care → facial contouring → modeling pack → finishing care

First, cleansing and a pack prepped my skin, then after decolletage care, the facial contouring began. They worked carefully, focusing on the areas I'd mentioned in the consultation — asymmetry, midface, and jawline.

They worked on the right side first, and comparing it to the untreated left side, I could clearly see the right line looked more defined. My face usually had the right side looking a bit more spread out, but after the treatment, the midface volume seemed a bit more lifted and the overall balance felt more even.

On the pre-treatment checklist, I asked for moderate pressure. They said that more pain and stronger pressure doesn't necessarily mean better results, so they kept checking in during the treatment to make sure the intensity was okay, which let me relax through it.

Before and after: comparing each side of the face

Finally, here's the before-and-after haha. Comparing the photos directly, my left-right balance looked a bit more even and my facial contour line felt more defined haha. In particular, my right side used to look a bit more spread out, but after the treatment, both sides of my face looked more similar than before, which I was really happy about :) 🤍

As I was preparing for my wedding, I naturally became more interested in facial care, so this time I got a facial contouring treatment at Esthetia Gwanggyo 1st Branch. They looked at each of my concerns — asymmetry, midface, and jawline — separately and explained which areas to address to improve overall balance, so I could understand what was happening even while receiving the treatment.
