Gangnam hair salon for natural S-curl perm: Beorn Hair Cheongdam

I’ve been wanting to change up my hairstyle lately, so this time I went to Beorn Hair Cheongdam for an S-curl perm. I usually go for styles where only the ends curl naturally, like C-curls, but this time I wanted something a little more feminine and voluminous, so I decided on S-curls!

The calm, bright salon interior

Once inside, the salon was more spacious than I expected and neatly organized throughout! Natural light pours in through the large windows, making it feel bright rather than cramped. After sitting for just a moment, I stored my things, put on a robe, and off we go for the hair appointment!

They were selling a variety of products, too.

Rather than the hectic, overwhelming atmosphere typical of some salons, the overall mood was calm, so I could stay comfortable throughout the treatment.

There were several stations, and with the designers and staff working together, the whole operation felt very organized.

I brought my own drink, so I didn’t have one there, but they gave me snacks and yakgwa (Korean honey cookies). They had lots of drink options, including coffee, iced tea, and juice.

The treatment process for understated S-curls

Once the consultation was over, the treatment really got underway! They first checked my hair condition again and proceeded with the necessary steps. Since I wanted S-curls in particular, I was told the key was to make the curls look natural without making my hair look too puffy, you know?

Director Hanna checked on my hair condition throughout, so I wasn’t too worried while waiting. Perms do take a little time, of course, so I took breaks in between and waited comfortably.

And finally, it was done! What I liked most when I first looked in the mirror was that the curls weren’t over-the-top! It had exactly the big, natural S-curl feeling I wanted, so I was super happy. Even with my hair simply down, it looked like I’d styled it, which I loved ㅠㅠ

Overall, I’m satisfied with this S-curl perm!! I didn’t want intensely defined waves; I wanted natural, feminine S-curls, and I think that feeling came through really well. I especially loved that when I wear my hair down, it doesn’t just fall flat—it forms natural waves, so it looks like I put much more effort into styling than usual.
