This is my review after loading up on seafood at Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch 🦀 I love seafood in general, so I'd been wanting to try their seafood boil for a while — and it turned out even more generous and delicious than I expected. Today I'll share the recommended menu and an honest review of this Yeouido restaurant.
How to get to Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido and where to park
Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch is within a 5-minute walk of National Assembly Station on Line 9. If you're driving, you can use the building's basement parking for free, which made visiting easy without any parking worries.

It's also a great spot to visit after shopping at The Hyundai Seoul or IFC Mall, or for a stroll through Yeouido Park after your meal. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the building, and you'll find it right to the left as you exit the elevator. It's also convenient to reach by public transit.
Inside Gaetbeol-ui Jogae: a wide hall with private rooms
The interior of Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch was really spacious. There are plenty of private rooms available too, so it seems like a great option for company dinners or group gatherings.

The interior was clean and the seats were spaced comfortably, so I could eat without feeling cramped.
Gaetbeol-ui Jogae menu and what to order
The clam hot pot and seafood boil at Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch come in set portions based on the number of diners, which made ordering easy for our group size.

They also run a separate lunch menu, so it's a good option for office workers in the area at lunchtime, and in the evening it pairs well with drinks and anju (drinking snacks).

Free self-bar yeolmu bibimbap while you wait
The giant clam hot pot comes out fairly quickly, but the seafood boil takes a bit longer since the seafood needs time to steam. While waiting, you can make yourself yeolmu bibimbap (radish-green rice bowl) at the self-bar as an appetizer, haha.

Usually bibimbap places only offer gochujang (chili paste), but here they also have gangdoenjang (thick soybean paste), so you can mix it to your taste. Of course it's better to save room for the seafood coming up, but if you show up as hungry as we did, the yeolmu bibimbap is a nice light way to take the edge off.

Instead of plain water, they also have cool hutgae tea (Hovenia dulcis tea) ready. I'm not a fan of plain water, so I give five stars for this little detail 👍
How much food is the seafood boil for two?
After the wait, the seafood boil finally arrived. Can you believe this is a portion for two?! It came piled high on a huge tray — at first I wondered if they'd brought the wrong order, it was that generous 😂 It was even more than it looked in photos once we had it in front of us.

The squid, tteok (rice cakes), and sausage were all pre-cut into easy-to-eat pieces, which made everything simpler to dig into. The portion was already generous, and having everything prepped like this made it even more convenient, haha.

They also gave us extra sauce, plus fried rice, spaghetti, and bread to enjoy alongside the seafood. It was great being able to eat the same seafood in different ways with rice, bread, and noodles.

Were the clams and shrimp fresh?
Sometimes when a place isn't very fresh, the seafood ends up too dried out or small, right? But true to its reputation as a seafood specialist, Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch served clams and shrimp that were both plump and delicious. Whether it was the sauce or the freshness, there was barely any fishy taste, so I could enjoy the variety of seafood happily. The clams in particular weren't tough at all — plump and really tasty.

A thoughtful touch at the checkout counter
At the checkout counter of Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch, they'd thoughtfully set out hair ties, floss, mouthwash, and even candy. Having everything you might need after a seafood meal ready to go felt really considerate. The staff were kind from start to finish, and these small touches made for a pleasant end to the meal.
Final verdict on Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido
That was my review of Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch, a restaurant near National Assembly Station. The seafood boil I'd been looking forward to was so generous it was hard to believe it was just for two, and the clams and shrimp were plump and fresh — a satisfying meal overall. The restaurant is spacious and well-equipped with private rooms, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a spot in Yeouido for a company dinner, family gathering, or group meal. If you want to enjoy seafood in a big way in Yeouido, I recommend giving it a visit!
