Hurato Sikdang Yeouido is a place I've come to often for office lunch gatherings! This time I met up for dinner with a college friend who just started an internship at Yeouido. I've been for lunch a few times but never dinner, so I was a little nervous — but since it was evening in Yeouido, we got seated with no wait at all haha.
Hurato Sikdang Yeouido: atmosphere and opening hours
Hurato Sikdang Yeouido is on the 3rd floor of Yeouido Finance Tower, a 2-minute walk from Yeouido Station Exit 3. The sign reads ふらっと Hurato Sikdang, and a highball poster caught my eye.

The hours posted said break time runs from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and dinner service goes until 8:30 PM. There was also a note asking guests to order within an hour of closing, so it's worth checking ahead!

Inside, Japanese-style artwork hangs on the walls and the open kitchen lets you watch the cooking. There were a few tables of diners in for the evening, all eating quietly, including someone dining solo.
Every table is set with a water bottle and napkin holder, and the walls had a poster for a barbecue chicken rice bowl and a promo for ₩5,000 instant N Pay cashback. Each table also has its own personal grill, a sign there'd be a meat dish to cook ourselves!

Menu, prices and what comes in Set 2
The menu at Hurato Sikdang has a wide range of Japanese dishes — gyukatsu (beef cutlet), tonkatsu, curry, and rice bowls. There were also set menus, which looked like great value when paired with a drink.
This time we went with Set 2: Yamagata minced-meat curry, gyukatsu, and zero-sugar cider. The price was reasonable and the portions generous — easily a solid rice bowl spot in Yeouido.

Yamagata minced-meat curry: how thick is it, plus the fried shrimp
The Yamagata minced-meat curry at Hurato Sikdang came out thick, exactly the right consistency for pouring over rice. The curry sauce was rich and savory, and mixing it into the rice was genuinely delicious.

Honestly, I scraped the bowl clean and still wished there was more sauce >_= The fried shrimp came out crispy all the way to the tail, and garlic chips and scallions topped the curry, adding extra flavor. Sides included pickled radish, shredded cabbage, and kimchi, plus a bowl of soybean paste soup.

Grilling the gyukatsu yourself on a personal tabletop grill
Hurato Sikdang's gyukatsu comes out for you to grill yourself on the tabletop grill. The beef cutlet was medium-rare with a pink center, perfect for finishing on the grill.

When the grill's heat started to fade, the staff kept tending to it without us even asking, which was great. They even swapped out the coals when we'd finished eating and there was still fire left.

They also provide aprons, so we didn't have to worry about oil splattering on our clothes! The gyukatsu was thick with juices still intact. The breading was crispy while the inside stayed moist — a textbook crispy-outside, tender-inside bite. It was rich and delicious enough that we kept reaching for more, and it was also great dipped in the curry sauce.

Three dipping sauces and the side dishes
The gyukatsu came with three dipping sauces in a divided container. Soy sauce, spicy sauce, and salt were all provided so you can dip to your taste!

Since we ordered the curry as part of the set too, we got to enjoy a nice variety of flavors overall. The curry came topped with a soft-boiled onsen egg, and it seemed you could choose a raw egg instead. Pickled radish and shredded cabbage were served as sides, good for cleansing the palate.
