Namyangju pasta restaurant with a 39,900-won couple set: Pibing

In short

Pibing Paldang Branch is a handmade pizza and pasta restaurant on Paldang-ro in Wabu-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi. The weekday couple set costs 39,900 won (regular price 55,000 won) and covers one pizza, one pasta and two drinks, so we ordered the Cheongyang carbonara pizza and the truffle mushroom cream pasta and, on the owner's advice, dipped slices of the pizza into the pasta's cream sauce. With baby chairs, a pet-friendly space and its own parking lot, Pibing Paldang Branch suits both a Paldang date and a meal with young children.

True to its reputation as a Namyangju pasta spot great for visiting with a baby and a dog-friendly pizza restaurant, they've set up a baby chair and a dedicated space for pets.

Inside Pibing Paldang Branch and the weekday couple set price

Step inside and you're greeted with an interior so full of a Yangyang vibe you'd almost think you were there.

Turns out Pibing's main branch actually is in Yangyang, so that explains it — a vibe that makes total sense once you know!

While deciding what to order, I picked the weekday couple set — pizza, pasta, and two drinks for ₩39,900 (regular price ₩55,000) — great value for the price ✌🏻

True to a Namyangju pizza favorite, each handmade pizza starts once your order goes in, so it may take longer if there's a backlog — but the wait guarantees the taste! Just a heads-up haha.

Since they're open until late in the evening, it's also a great spot for craft beer paired with pizza. Once you've ordered and head up to the second floor, you'll find yourself debating where to sit.

A window seat lets you look right out at Paldang, and with the sunlight streaming in, evenings must feel even more atmospheric there 😆 During the day, even the middle tables felt fine thanks to the bright natural light.

How spicy is the Cheongyang carbonara pizza?

This pizza is described as featuring Pibing's own special sauce — a phrase that alone appeals to Koreans who love spicy food.

Sliced Cheongyang chili peppers sit on top, and just looking at it you'd think it'd be super spicy, but surprisingly, blending with the pizza's cheese mellowed out the heat. It ended up being spicy in just the right amount!

The owner told us it tastes even better dipped into the truffle mushroom cream pasta sauce, and that it's also good with noodles piled on top — so we tried it, and yep, the owner really knows their stuff ✌🏻

What does the truffle mushroom cream pasta taste like?

The second main was the truffle mushroom cream pasta. I already knew the pizza would be great since it's the star, but could the pasta really be this good too?!

The noodles aren't a type you often encounter, and it comes loaded with cheese, so it seems like something a kid would really enjoy too. Rich truffle aroma, plenty of mushrooms, and that thick, velvety cream texture — it's a combination that simply can't taste bad ♬

The drink came on a tray with an ice-filled cup, which felt nice and made it easy to enjoy cold — and Coca-Cola, of course, paired perfectly with the pizza and pasta. Recommended if you're looking for a Namyangju Paldang date course.
