Dog-friendly Namyangju pizza restaurant with Han River views: Pibing

In short

Pibing Paldang Branch is a dog-friendly pizza restaurant on Paldang-ro in Wabu-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi, filling an entire building above the Han River. Ordering the weekday couple set, the writer had the new Surfer's pizza and the truffle parmigiano cream pasta at a second-floor river-view table with their dog, and Pibing Paldang Branch provides dog chairs plus a self-bar with barley tea. The light natural-cheese pizza and the chewy wide noodles both delivered, making Pibing Paldang Branch worth a return trip with a dog.

On the way home there was a huge pizza place, and curiosity got the better of me, so I stopped by Pibing.

The whole building was one big pizza place, and the exterior stood out so much that I was already excited before even going in.

What is Pibing Paldang Branch like? A pizza restaurant that feels like a holiday resort

Walking in, the first thing that caught my eye was a warm interior that felt like an overseas resort. Overall it had a comfortable mood, wood tones mixed with yellow light, and the owner greeted us kindly too, so it left a great first impression.

There was a wide variety of handmade pizzas on the menu, and half-and-half pizza was also possible, so you could order a couple of flavors at once.

We picked the weekday couple set and, after debating which pizza to get, ordered the new Surfer's pizza and the truffle parmigiano cream pasta.

Order on the 1st floor, then head up to the 2nd

Pibing has a 1st floor, a 2nd floor, and even a terrace you can use — you order on the 1st floor and then head straight up to the 2nd.

The stairs and walls leading up to the 2nd floor were decorated with Pibing's signature surfer illustrations, so it was fun just checking things out on the way up.

Second-floor Han River view seats

Once upstairs, the atmosphere felt even more full of character.

Surfing footage kept playing on a screen, so the concept of the space came through loud and clear.

The wide-open Han River terrace

Curious, I went up to check out the terrace too, and it was really good. A wide-open view of the Han River stretched out in front of me, and the tables were arranged with real character. It was a bit hot that day, but on a cooler day, eating with the breeze while looking out at the river would feel genuinely romantic.

Can you bring a dog to Pibing Paldang Branch? There are even dog chairs

Dog settled into a 2nd floor seat with a Han River view

We went back down to the 2nd floor and settled into a seat with a good view of the Han River. My dog seemed to like the relaxed atmosphere too, and for once actually made the first move to greet the dog at the next table. There were dedicated dog chairs available, though we ended up using the one we'd brought instead.

What's at the self-bar?

Self-bar at Pibing Paldang Branch

There was a separate self-bar, so we could easily grab whatever we needed.

I didn't expect a pizza place to have barley tea, but it was rich and cold, and one cup completely quenched my thirst.

Beer menu signage next to the self-bar

Reading the signage at the self-bar, it said Pibing makes 6 kinds of sauce by hand and uses 100% natural cheese, which made me feel the care put into the food. The beer selection was also fairly serious — apparently there's even a snow-flake bingsu beer called Pibingmaek. I visited during the day so I couldn't try it this time, but now I'm curious and want to try it next time.

Surfer's pizza with a Han River view

Surfer's pizza set on the table with a Han River view

Pizzas are made to order, so we had to wait a bit, but it came out sooner than expected while we looked around inside and took photos.

Once it arrived, the finished pizza looked genuinely appetizing from the color alone, and with the Han River view in the frame too, it looked even better.

A slice of Surfer's pizza topped with cheese and arugula

We started with the Surfer's pizza. The menu noted it's a pizza Australian surfers love to eat, so I was curious what it would taste like.

The pizza was piled with cheese and generously topped with arugula. Taking a bite, the cheese had a clean, savory flavor that came through clearly. In particular, you could really tell it used natural cheese — the taste was soft and clean.

If you prefer something with a bit more kick, you can add tabasco or parmesan cheese from the self-bar.

Truffle parmigiano cream pasta and its unusual wide noodles

Truffle parmigiano cream pasta with wide, wavy noodles

The pasta caught my eye because of noodles shaped unlike anything I'd seen before — wide, ribbon-like strands with wavy, ruffled edges, giving a completely different feel from regular spaghetti.

Taking a bite, the noodles themselves were chewy yet soft, and the cream sauce clung well to the wide surface, giving it a rich flavor.

Cream pasta noodles wound around a fork

The texture was more interesting than typical pasta noodles, so I enjoyed the chewiness too.

Dipping a pizza crust into the cream sauce

The sauce alone had a smooth, savory finish even eaten straight, but as the owner suggested, I dipped the crust end of the pizza into it. Soaking up the cream sauce, the crust turned into a whole different kind of treat, and I'd recommend trying that combination too.

The drink basket at Pibing Paldang Branch

Our drinks came served in a basket, stamped with Pibing's logo — so even in small details like this, not just the food, the mood of the place came through. Consistent design elements were scattered throughout the store, so photos ended up capturing that character well too.

Pibing goods and the autograph on the wall

Back down on the 1st floor, I noticed they even sell Pibing-branded merchandise with the logo on it. It was a little surprising that a pizza place sells its own goods, but with such a clear concept for the store, it made sense and was fun to see.

On the way out, I was surprised to spot an autograph from Won Bin on the wall. To think this is a famous enough spot that Won Bin himself has stopped by...

Can you take leftover pizza home?

Takeout box packed with leftover pizza

The portions were more generous than expected, so we had some pizza left over. When I asked for it to be packed up, they wrapped it neatly so I could take the rest home. Microwaved at home, it tasted just as good as when it was fresh.

Final verdict on Pibing Paldang Branch

Pibing is a pizza place with a clear, consistent concept — a wide-open Han River view, a resort-like atmosphere, and food made with natural cheese and house-made sauces. The Surfer's pizza was light yet had a proper savory cheese flavor, and the truffle parmigiano cream pasta's unique noodles paired well with the smooth sauce to make for a delicious meal. Above all, the owner was kind, dog-friendly, and thoughtful about the details, which made it comfortable to visit with a dog too. Every dish felt like it was letting the ingredients shine naturally, and beyond just being a pretty space, I could feel the owners' sincerity about the food, which left a lasting impression. It's a Paldang pizza spot I'd want to visit again, whether to enjoy pizza and pasta while looking out at the Han River or to have a meal with my dog somewhere with a great atmosphere.
