Birthday mango cake pickup at a Centum City cake shop: Sijeunikeu
In short
Sijeunikeu Shinsegae Department Store Centum City Branch is a whole-fruit cake takeout shop in the basement 1 dessert zone of Shinsegae Centum City in Haeundae, Busan. For a father's birthday, the writer got the last Mango Farm Warreu (60,000 won), the shop's signature cake, and added an insulated bag (2,500 won) to carry it home; the whole mangoes stacked like stairs in the cross-section and the light Korean fresh cream meant he ate two slices. Sijeunikeu connects directly to Centum City Station on subway line 2, which makes it an easy cake pickup stop for a celebration.

It was my father-in-law's birthday, and I really wanted to nail the cake!! After a ton of searching, I ended up at a cake shop where mangoes literally spill off the top — here's my honest review^^
Where is Sijeunikeu in Shinsegae Centum City, and the basics
Sijeunikeu Shinsegae Department Store Centum City Branch is on basement floor 1 of Shinsegae Centum City, at 35 Centumnam-daero, Haeundae-gu, Busan. Hours are Mon–Thu 10:30–20:00 and Fri–Sun 10:30–20:30, and both takeout and parking are available.
It's directly connected to Centum City Station on subway line 2!! You can walk straight through underground, so you won't get wet even on a rainy day. Out of all the cake shops near Centum City Station, this one's accessibility is honestly the best haha.
What is the Sijeunikeu Centum City shop like, and is there seating?

Sijeunikeu Centum City is an open-format display counter under round lighting, in the dessert zone on basement floor 1 of Shinsegae Centum City. It's not a shop with its own door — you just spot it as you walk by!! The cakes are lined up in a showcase, so your eyes go straight there haha. I went on a Sunday and it was packed, and there's no seating — takeout only!!

If you have food allergies, I'd recommend telling the staff beforehand!! Cakes can't be exchanged or refunded, so it's best to take a good look before deciding!!
Sijeunikeu Centum City menu and cake prices
Sijeunikeu runs entirely on seasonal fruit, so the lineup changes with the season. When I went it was mango, peach, and fig — figs had just come in for September!!

- Mango Farm Warreu ₩60,000
- Mango Tower Cake (Size 1) ₩53,000 (4 whole mangoes)
- Mango Tower Cake (Mini) ₩39,000
- Whole Mango Cream Cake ₩29,000

- Peach Farm Warreu ₩60,000
- Floral Peach (Size 1) ₩48,000 / Mini ₩38,000

- Fig Farm Warreu ₩60,000
- Honey Vanilla Fig (Size 1) ₩49,000 / Mini ₩35,000
Prices run in the ₩50,000–60,000 range for a Size 1 cake, so it's not cheap. But since whole fruit goes right on top, the price felt justified haha.

Ordering the Mango Farm Warreu and packing it in an insulated bag
I ordered Sijeunikeu's signature Mango Farm Warreu (₩60,000)!! When I got there, there was exactly one left, so I was in a rush hahaha.

While boxing it up, the staff told me I should definitely get the insulated bag. Since it's whipped cream with whole fruit, it can collapse during transport. For ₩2,500 there's no reason not to — of course I bought one haha. The staff were so kind that the wait for packing wasn't boring at all^^
What the Mango Farm Warreu cake tastes like

I took it home and pulled it out of the fridge briefly before heading to my in-laws'!! So pretty!! It looked like the mango's sweetness and juice would burst in my mouth^^

Whole mangoes are stacked like stairs on top of the white cream cake, and mango spills down the sides too!! True to its name, it's really 'warreu' (spilling over) haha. The rosemary sprig is a nice touch! The moment the knife goes in, mangoes start rolling off haha. The cross-section is layered with mango too, so every slice is packed with flesh!!
The mangoes are from Thailand, but after long ripening there's almost no fibrous texture. It practically melts like you're eating with a spoon, and the aroma fills your mouth. The cream is Korean-made, so it's light and clean. It's not too sweet, so the mango's sweetness isn't drowned out!! The sponge is thin and moist, so it doesn't feel heavy going down. The best part was that, for a fruit cake, there was no greasy aftertaste.

I was worried the elders might find it too sweet, but my father-in-law ate two slices haha. Honestly, it was so good lol. Picking this for the birthday cake was really the right call. The Honey Vanilla Fig with figs on top has also been on my mind, so I might try that next time!!
Who Sijeunikeu Centum City is best for
- When you're stuck on what to get for a birthday or anniversary cake
- When you're near Centum City Station and want a quick pickup
- When you want a Busan cake recommendation loaded with fruit
I used to think all cakes were pretty similar, but Sijeunikeu felt different. The fruit isn't just decoration — it feels like the main event, so even cutting into it felt exciting. Grabbing the insulated bag also kept my mind at ease the whole way home. It's on the pricier side, but I didn't feel any regret about the choice.
Since it's directly connected to Centum City Station, it's an easy stop while browsing the department store, and it also fits nicely into a Haeundae café course. If you're looking for a Busan cake recommendation ahead of an anniversary, Sijeunikeu Shinsegae Department Store Centum City Branch is worth a visit.
