When You Bite in Tangjeong, Asan: the two dishes chosen on a weekend
I went to Asan over the weekend looking for somewhere with good vibes that could also handle a proper meal, and ended up at When You Bite.
It's well known as a brunch café so I was curious. I went back and forth between gnocchi and jambon-beurre, and settled on the truffle cream gnocchi. And the pesce pasta too!!
What is the truffle cream gnocchi at When You Bite like?

I tried the truffle cream gnocchi first, and personally, the cream sauce was really delicious.
The truffle came through subtly, and the savory, smooth cream sauce went really well with the gnocchi. The mushrooms in particular made the mushroom-and-cream-sauce combo work well.
Pesce pasta: squid and a spicy tomato base like hangover pasta

And surprisingly, the dish I liked even more was the pesce pasta.
It had a spicy kick on a tomato base, so it felt like the kind of hangover pasta people usually picture. Ordering one cream-sauce dish alongside the pesce pasta turned out to be a great combination.
It was spicy with a savory depth that kept me coming back for more, and best of all, it was loaded with a good amount of squid.
If you like seafood pasta, or prefer something a little spicy and hearty over something rich and heavy, I'd recommend the pesce pasta. Between the two dishes, the pesce pasta was the more memorable one for me.
Overall the food was great. Since each dish went in such a different flavor direction — the cream sauce versus the spicy pesce pasta — I was glad we ordered both.

This was an Asan brunch café where the tasty cream sauce of the truffle cream gnocchi and the spicy pesce pasta made a great combo.
Next time I'd like to visit on a weekday or during a quieter time slot, so I can enjoy it a bit more relaxed.
