Jeju City café with coffee omakase: omija latte at Gasangsun Coffee

In short

Gasangsun Coffee is a coffee-focused café in a quiet alley of Ara-dong, Jeju City, on Jeju Island. Visiting alone during a business trip, I ordered the omija (schisandra berry) café latte for 6,500 won, served in a wine glass — tangy-sweet omija and soft milk with a surprisingly heavy body. With coffee omakase by reservation and hand-drip options, Gasangsun Coffee is worth a stop when you want properly made coffee.

Hi, this is "Our Next Place" (우다장)! I'm on a business trip to Jeju today, and with a bit of time to spare, I looked around and ended up here. This time, no girlfriend by my side... it's just me... I'll be okay, right??😥 Let's get into the post!!

Where is Gasangsun Coffee, and what are its hours?

Gasangsun Coffee is a coffee-focused café at 8 Inda 9-gil, 1st floor, in Ara-dong, Jeju City, Jeju. It's open Monday to Saturday from 11:00 to 21:00, last order at 20:30, and closed every Sunday. Parking is also available.

It's located in Jeju's Ara-dong, tucked away in a quiet alley, which gave it that hidden-gem coffee shop feeling. The more tucked away a place is, the more I find myself thinking, "maybe this is a real coffee spot?"

What Gasangsun Coffee looks like from the street

From the outside alone, you could feel a real seriousness about coffee here. The overall vibe was clean and calm, which made it more impressive — it didn't feel like a café that was just prettily decorated, but a space meant for properly enjoying coffee. The confidence about coffee was clear even from the exterior, which naturally built my expectations for what kind of coffee they'd be serving haha.

Selected as a top coffee shop in Korea by the 2026 Columbus Guide, apparently. With the weather being so hot, and my expectations even higher now, I hurried inside!

Inside Gasangsun Coffee: a spacious room with group seating

The inside of Gasangsun Coffee was more spacious than I expected, with plenty of seats — I felt a huge sense of openness the moment I walked in. The gaps between tables were generous too, so I could sit comfortably without feeling cramped!☺ There was even group seating for several people, which would be great for gatherings or group visits.

There was also a bar table with an antique-feeling display of coffee gear and equipment. They have a coffee omakase menu and hand-drip coffee inside, but the omakase requires a reservation! If my girlfriend had been with me, I'd have loved to try it haha. And I thought it'd be nice to sit there watching the hand-drip process while trying that too :)

I sat here. It felt like a good spot for someone coming alone! Satisfied!

All around the interior were things proving various coffee credentials, which added to my trust in the coffee here🙂

I hope everyone who sees this lucky 2-dollar bill has nothing but good things come their way☘

I also got to see what the coffee beans look like before roasting haha.

Here's the menu! I thought of my girlfriend, who really loves omija (schisandra berry), so without hesitation I ordered the omija café latte, a menu item I'd never seen before! I was curious what it would taste like too😏

I could see a variety of desserts for sale, and there was gelato too😋

They also sell coffee drip bags, beans, and cold brew concentrate. It looked like a good option for people who want to easily enjoy coffee at home, or as something to buy as a Jeju travel souvenir haha.

How does the 6,500-won omija café latte taste?

Gasangsun Coffee's omija café latte is ₩6,500 and comes served in a wine glass. There was a subtle tangy-sweet omija flavor, combined with the smoothness of milk.

It's finally here~~~~~~~~~ my~~~ omija café latte~~~~~~

Having the drink served in a wine glass gave it a certain elegance, and the taste was a café latte with a subtle tangy-sweet omija flavor plus the smoothness of milk! The body was heavier and richer than expected, quite different from a light, easy-drinking latte, and it finished with omija's distinct refreshing tang lingering at the end, making it a uniquely enjoyable drink😚

Sorry for the shaky footage — I was holding it and filming solo,, apparently you're supposed to stir the omija café latte by scooping from the bottom, where the syrup settles, rather than just mixing! It was so hot out that I gulped it down quickly and headed out haha.
