Kid-friendly ocean-view lunch with shrimp pilaf, bulgogi pizza

While looking for somewhere easy to eat with our toddler on our Yeosu trip, we visited Ravenna, an ocean-view restaurant in Soho-dong, Yeosu!

When traveling with a kid, taste matters, but so does whether parking is easy, whether there's a baby chair, and whether there's a menu the child can actually eat. Ravenna has a wide range of menu items — pasta, risotto, pizza, steak — so it seemed like a good fit for a family visit, and best of all, the Yeosu sea view through the floor-to-ceiling windows was really pretty 😍

There's parking on the building's 1st floor, so it was convenient to drive there with our kid 😊 The 1st floor is parking, the 2nd floor is Ravenna, and the 3rd floor has a café — so you can handle a meal and coffee in the same building, which was nice haha

Sofa seating that's good for kids, and the sea view through the glass wall

Once inside, the space was bigger than expected, and the tables were spaced out generously. There were sofa seats too, comfortable for sitting with a kid!

One side of the restaurant is a wide floor-to-ceiling window, so you can see the Yeosu sea from your seat. It looked pretty in photos, but sitting there in person and looking out at the sea while eating really made it feel like a Yeosu trip haha The weather was nice that day too, so the window seats had a really great atmosphere 💙

A mirror photo zone and hand cream

Near the restrooms, there's a mirror photo zone set up like this!

Next to it, several scents of hand cream were laid out, and it felt like they'd thought about the small details, not just the dining space, which I liked!

What we picked with our 28-month-old

We ordered a shrimp pilaf (S), a mozzarella tomato pasta (S), and a bulgogi pizza! Since we'd be eating with 28-month-old Jjin, we picked things that weren't too strong-flavored and that a kid could eat too haha

Self-serve bar and a kids' plate

There's a self-serve bar off to one side where you can help yourself to as many side dishes as you want!

Along with the regular dishware, they gave us a separate plate and utensils for our kid 😊

If you write a receipt review, you get one free drink per table, so that's worth knowing if you visit!

Free pre-meal bread and salad

One thing I really liked was that pre-meal bread and salad are free at every table!! It was nice to have something light before the mains came, and Jjin especially dug into the bread right away, which made the wait a little easier haha

Shrimp pilaf portion size and how the bulgogi pizza tasted

Overall the seasoning wasn't too strong, just right, so we could eat everything without it being too salty. The shrimp pilaf especially surprised me — even at S size, the portion was quite generous 🫢 It was good for sharing with our kid, and the combination of all three dishes together worked well.

Jjin loves pizza so much that whenever we go to a Western restaurant, we always order one! The bulgogi pizza this time went down really well with Jjin — the seasoning wasn't strong and the bulgogi was soft, so it worked for a kid too. Watching her keep reaching for it, our pizza-loving Jjin, I'd call the menu choice that day a success haha

Looking for an ocean-view spot to eat with kids in Yeosu

You see a lot of the sea on a Yeosu trip anyway, but being able to look out at it comfortably while eating was probably Ravenna's biggest strength. There's parking, a baby chair, and a good variety of Western dishes that work well for kids, so if you're looking for a place for a family meal with your child in Yeosu, it's worth a visit 😊 Especially if you're looking for a good ocean-view restaurant around Soho-dong, keep this one in mind!
